we had a fantastic time on our trek with yumon. She's an open-minded person with whom you can talk about everything and she's very humorous. she took great care of us on the trail, as we were there in the rainy season it was slippery and muddy a lot of the time. also the food was delicious and the made it possible for us to eat vegetarian. the overnight stay with local family was also a great experience which we would not want to miss.

We did a 2 day trekking and it was really amazing. Walking through the beautiful everchanging landscape from Kalaw - Inle Lake. We passed farmers that where working the land, rice feilds, small villages, muddy small paths, cows and buffalo’s. The real country side of Myanmar i think. Yumon told us a lot about the country, the people, the different tribes. We spent the night with at a pao tribe family which was lovely and the food was also really good. I recommend this 2 day trek to everybody who likes to hike and is interested in the country and its citizens.

We booked a 2 day trekking with Yumon and it was fantastic! The trekking itself is very good value for money. During the trekking you see nature changing every time. The Shan state and area around Kalaw / Inle lake is absolutely stunning :) After day one we stayed at a local house to sleep in a Pa’O tribe village which was very nice. Day two was partly rainy but beautiful again, especially while arriving at Inle lake :) The food during the trekking was lovely. Yumon told us a lot about everything we passed, she was a lovely and funny guide! Thanks Yumon for the amazing trekking :)

Let’s start at the beginning: before arrival we wrote many mails with Yu mon and she helped us find a good place to stay in Kalaw and was answering all our questions. On the morning we started, she explained us the tour ahead and off we went. My girlfriend and I booked the private tour and we were guided by Yu mon and her sister Kk. On most parts of the tour we were by ourselves, only at some points the different routes come together, and you see other tourist groups. The track Yu mon and Kk chose was great: good view of the scenery, we passed many local villages and fields. Yu mon speaks very good English, she explained us a lot about the people, nature and country and we enjoyed talking with her about politics, culture, economic, or simply movies and TV shows. The trip was very entertaining - besides walking we used a pickup truck, scooter, boat and a bamboo raft for transportation.
The food on the journey was very good. With our cook Nyan Linn we got very good original food served wherever we stayed - also Yu mon made sure during the whole trip that everything is clean so that no one gets sick. The family house we stayed for the night was very clean.
You can tell that she does this job with passion. She has a great positive energy and the whole trip was organized perfectly. We had a lot of fun and can recommend her 100% without any hesitation.

I did a three day, two night trekking trip with Phyo, and I had the time of my life. Every detail, down to the time we would leave and arrive, was pre coordinated, and we went to so many places where I did not see a single other tourist. It was the most authentic cultural experience I could’ve asked for, and spending so much time with Phyo was like icing on the cake.
This small business, owned, operated, and run by a small family, is supporting an entire family, as well as the surrounding villagers that they pass. I have never in my life been treated with the respect, quality, and detail that Phyo showed on his trip. I had the bet meals I’ve eaten in months, every single meal was amazing, the guiding was amazing, the views were amazing, and the company was amazing. I would suggest this company to any one, any time, any chance I get! From one guide to another, Yu Min and Phyo have the most quality guiding product money can buy!
Thanks for the unforgettable time guys!

We took the 3 days trekking from kalaw to Lake Inle and it has been wonderful! Every day the landscape changed: tea plantations, bananas, rice fields, cauliflowers, chili peppers and at the end rivers and waterfalls!! Everything was so well organized, nice stops during the trekking and comfortable accommodations for the nights. Meals were delicious! My husband and I have really appreciated this trekking and the company of our guide Phyo. Talking with him was very interesting because we had the chance to understand Burma culture and way of life, comparing it with our European everyday life

We have booked 2 days trekking based on their simple website, and did not really know what to expect.
Well, the experience was absolutely amazing.
We started from Kalaw by car and got to the starting point where most of the trekking groups begin; from that point, our guide selected paths and trails with less and less people, avoiding other groups and getting in closer contact with locals.
The trail was easy on the first day, with some stops at villages, and a little adventure in the crops to avoid few buffaloes which where blocking our way. Nice sceneries and views all around...
This trail is easy to follow and off-road running shoes are enough; no special training needed, average people can do it.
We stopped at a village for the night, and slept at their farmhouse; let’s be clear, no bed, heating or private bathroom, but this is not supposed to be a resort stay.
Instead, we had the chance to experience how local people live; mattresses with loads of heavy covers were arranged for us, and although the temperature dropped to as low as 8C (from ~30C in the day) and while there is no heating, we did not feel cold at all: possibly, the best sleep we had during our 10 days in Myanmar!
Local food was cooked for us for dinner and breakfast, delicious and rewarding after a day of trekking; a lot of fresh fruit was also served.
The family members were all friendly and very curious to know us, and looked quite proud of making us happy.
For the second day, we had the chance to choose whether to follow the common road where most of the people walk, or to go through a more secluded trail.
We recommend to do the second one, but bring mountain boots if you can, since the trail is sometimes steep and narrow, on the edge of cliffs from time to time; it is also physically more demanding than the first day, but well worth the extra effort!
The sceneries of the second way were amazing, ranging from wild jungle to alpine pinewoods, to middle-Italy style crop hills.
We had to cross a river on a bamboo platform and on a cane bridge, which was fun!
When the trail was finished, we were taken by car to a restaurant on the Inle lake, where many other groups finish the trekking; after lunch, a boat took us to our hotel (on the lake) passing through water villages and channels, floating crops and fishermen; a perfect ending of an amazing experience!

What an experience! We had the privilege to do a three day trek with Yumon and it was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. Yumon, a little girl by size but big by heart :), made a great guide across the lands of the Shan state. What we learned about the country and its people in those three days we did not learn elsewhere in three weeks. Yumon has great knowledge about everything around and is willing to pass it to you with passion. On top it, she has great sense of humour and good English which means you will not get bored while hiking those 65km.
The pace of the trek was very convenient, neither slow nor fast, with numerous stops for short refreshments. In the evenings we were served number of various tasty traditional meals, you won't go to bed hungry, trust me.
Price of the trek is higher compared to the bigger agencies but it is definitely worth it since instead of going in a group of 10-15 people you go with max. 5-6 (in our case we were just two of us). You will appreciate it as soon as you see the size of the other groups from time to time. I can assure you that the extra money will pay off.
Altough we did not trek with her husband Phyo, we had an opportunity to meet him in the evenings and I can say that he is great fun too, so whoever of them you go with, you will not regret.
For us 10/10.

Our group of 12 did a day trip to Kalaw View point. It was a wonderful trek through the country side. The lovely young couple yumon & phyo (who gave up the city life for nature) have a good command of the English language and are welcoming. Throughout the trek, they are accommodating with my group, taking care of our needs and taking in the consideration of the senior citizen. They are happy to share with us the local way of life/culture/history and are knowledgeable of the local Flora and fauna. They even surprised us with local produce, oranges, which the group is happy to have to quench our thirst during the trek. Thank you for your hospitality yumon & phyo, may your years ahead be filled with lasting joy.

Bonjour,
Hello,
We are 2 French tourists who think to arrive in Kalaw Sunday 11 December by the night bus coming from Mandalay. We want to cross the look of people who populate your area through hiking. Can you take us on Sunday 11 to the caves of Pindaya and start a 2 to 3 days hike back to KALAW. We want to take the train from Kalaw to Nyaung shwe and be there by December 13.
Does this project make sense for you to meet the different ethnic groups in your area?
Thank you for making a practical proposal and a quote?
Thanks you and good continuation
