以前妻と訪れました。50半ばになり、賑やかな町に訪れるより、山間部の静かな雰囲気の場所が好きになりました。宿泊した露天風呂から眺める渓谷が最高でした。ちょうど､テレビ番組で祖谷温泉の紹介をしていましたので懐かしさから、口コミを入力しました。

この日は2020年9月24日、ホテルかずら橋に宿泊していた。
チェックアウトした後車で県道32号線を進むと、途中に深い渓谷が見えた。
ホテル祖谷温泉の前を通過。
小便小僧の銅像に到着。
思ったより小さな銅像だ。
足下にはコインが投げられていた。
この谷はとても深く、銅像とのコントラストがインスタ映えしそう。

祖谷のかづら橋を目当てに足を運んだ秘境祖谷。
さすがは日本三大秘境だけあり来るものを拒むかのようなアクセスの悪さがハードルの高さを引き揚げます。
秘境だけありこの地には平家落人伝説が言い伝えられ伝承好きにはそれだけでもたまらないエリアでもあります。
こちらの温泉宿を利用したのですが露天風呂は他の旅館のものと比較しても群を抜いてよかったです。
急斜面をケーブルカーを駆使して入浴しに行くというアトラクション要素がまたたまりません。源泉の温度はぬるめの約38度。ぬるめだからこそ長湯ができるのも最大のメリット。時間をかけて思う存分祖谷渓の景色を眺める至福のひと時を過ごすことができました。夕食の地鶏をつかった会席料理も絶品でした。

I came to Iya Valley specifically to stay here. The drive to Iya Onsen is spectacular, and my stay at Iya Onsen was nothing short of amazing. the staff were so helpful and courteous, the food was fantastic, and the scenery from the hotel, from the cable car to the onsen, and the onsen itself has to be experienced to be believed.
I'm determined to come visit Iya Onsen again.

日本全国いろんな温泉に行きましたが、個人的に思い出に残る温泉ベスト５に入れていいくらいの温泉でした。温泉に行くまでにケーブルカーで深い谷底の渓谷まで降りていかなければならないというのがとても面白い。祖谷渓を体験できるアトラクションでもある。そして祖谷渓の谷底の川や美しい岩盤を眺めながら温泉を満喫できるというのも素晴らしい。お湯もちょっとぬるぬるしているが自分的にはとても効用があって疲れが取れた。一つだけ難点なのはお湯がかなりぬるめであること。なので寒くてあがれないで長いことお湯から出ることができませんでした。とにかく他で体験できないような温泉ということで個人的にポイントの高い温泉だと感じました。

祖谷渓の中程にある一軒宿の温泉です。建物は道路沿いの斜面に清水寺の舞台造りのように建っていて、温泉はフロント脇からケーブルで5分程下った谷底の川沿いにあります。38〜39度の源泉掛け流しで、ぬるいので特に冬場は20〜30分浸かる必要があります。ただ浸かるだけです。アルカリが強いので、ヌルヌルした感じで、良い泉質です。体を洗ったり洗髪するのは、上の館内の内湯に行く必要があります。内湯は下の源泉を温めているそうです。

大歩危駅からバスで約30分。近くに「祖谷渓温泉」「新祖谷温泉」を名乗る宿があるが、「祖谷温泉」としては県道32号沿いの崖に一軒宿のホテルがあるのみである。周囲には飲食店や娯楽施設もない。
平家の落人が入湯したという伝説がある地であるが、現在の温泉は昭和時代に掘削されたものとのことである。

We specifically came to this area for this breathtaking Onsen experience. First is the cable car leading you down to the river from the main building which is an attraction in itself how steep it goes down. Then you arrive down at their outdoor Onsen which has 3 compartments, 2 which they swap every other day between male and female and a third private compartment which you need to reserve in advance.
The onsen waters are not too hot so you can take a long relaxing soak while admiring the river and valley. Very special here is that you don’t need to wash up before entering because the water is so abundant that it keeps flowing at all times.
It is rich in sulfur so there’s the trademark smell but we did not find it bothering at all, likely thanks to the fact that it’s a completely open bath.
The onsen waters are not too hot so you can take a long relaxing soak while admiring the river and valley. Very special here is that you don’t need to wash up before entering because the water is so abundant that it keeps flowing at all times.

和老公在電視節目上看到這個有趣的景點，搭纜車到山谷下泡溫泉，於是把這個景點作為我們的蜜月之旅，在和之宿飯店一泊二食，6月底去山谷涼涼的，水溫37度，泡起來不會全身通紅，而是很舒服，溪流的聲音很大，在山谷裡泡溫泉，讓五官完全置身於大自然中，是個非常棒的體驗，很可惜的是當天飯店的觀星活動已經滿了，沒辦法去。
建議要把浴衣穿好，左襟上右襟下！

This was a lovely little trip for us into Iya. Although the weather was misty which limited our views this time, it made the atmosphere really mysterious and felt even more like Japan.
The surroundings for your Onsen time are awesome, the water is lovely, not too hot, so you can bathe for an extended period.
Unlike many, you are only expected to rinse before getting in because it’s fast flowing into and out of the bath. There’s no shower facilities which is why, if you were looking to get shower clean you would also use the indoor one at the hotel. However if you only used the indoor one you really would be completely missing the point. Be sure to take your own towel if possible, although you can buy a fairly decent one for around 800 yen.
The staff were very accommodating, allowing our 1 and 1/2 year old into the bath and also, because we’d missed out on lunch due to heavy traffic problems earlier in the trip, they let us buy some noodle pots from the shop and have them in the restaurant with an amazing view.
If you are passing this way do give it a go although leave plenty of time if you’re driving and get there well before 1pm if you want to try the local food which looked amazing.

I know the hotel will pick you up at train station when you arrive around 4:10 PM, but when you leave the hotel, how do you get back to the train station?

I would like to try the Iyaonsen open bath during my visit but not staying there. I was wonder if anybody know the entry fee of Y1500 include bathrobe and tower or not. If not, does that mean we can just wear our normal cloth, take the cable car getting down the valley, and just jump in ??

I stayed in the hotel so they gave me a yukata to wear. I think they give you a small towel when you visit for the day but there are changing rooms at the bottom of the cable car so you can change and leave your clothes there. Enjoy - it's wonderful.
