We had a wonderful sunny half term day at the mill. There is extra treats to keep children entertained. A hunt with owls as the theme, seed growing using glue and tissue to take home and plant and in the garden area equipment to play. There was hoops, large connect four also bats and soft balls. We only walked around the garden and didn’t visit the mill etc

Wasn't really expecting much upon visiting, only decided to go since it was nearby another NT site and we only spent an hour there. We thought Quarry Bank Mill would be relatively small, but we were wrong, in so many ways! It was so delightful here and the staff/volunteers are absolutely brilliant. So friendly!!
We visited the mill and walked around the lower gardens, but didn't walk around everywhere as it was so vast and we were a bit hungry as we'd not eaten breakfast!
Definitely would recommend. It is expensive if you're not a NT member though. But what a lovely day. I especially loved the fact when I asked for directions for the exit and the gent walking past offered a buggy ride when he saw my mum with a walking stick.
Would definitely come back to further explore!

I was absolutely blown away by this place and it completely out did my expectations. I was expecting to see a mill but was not expecting to see the wonderful gardens which were a bonus. I spent so much time in the gardens I got too late to visit the mill which gives me a reason to go back again.

We spent a lovely day here. There is so much to see and do. We arrived at ten and left at closing time and still didn’t get to do everything on offer. We had a great tour of the apprentice house and a fabulous tour of the workers cottage by Lucy. The mill itself is fascinating. Jane was particularly outstanding. A truly lovely day. Definitely worth a visit.

Well worth a visit the mill is interesting and the gardens are beautiful and it's a huge area if taking dogs but for me there was one big downside and that is the toilet situation. we travelled some distance to visit here and got caught up in road diversion and stop start traffic by the time we arrived here both me and my husband were desperate for the loo yet none to be found on arrival at the visitors centre. we stood queuing to get in crossed legs so the first thing I asked was where are the toilets we were told a 2 min walk by the apprentice house. so off we went we searched sll over this area and couldn't find. ended up after that wild goose chase heading down to the mill. how not wet myself was a miracle !! very much doubt we'd visit again for this reason and we are new national trust members. visit 3 other sites all have had toilets soon has you go through the entrance. please sort this out . would of give 5 stars

A great place to visit with lots of interesting history. The only issue we had was at the house. We had to wait outside to go in which was understandable as they limit numbers. However the lady that came out to let us in when people left insisted on giving a talk whilst we stood there instead of doing it inside. She seemed oblivious to the heavy rain we were all stood in as she stood under the porch. This seemed strange as there was an entrance hall and just resulted in very wet people going around the house. Inside however there was a lovely informative gentleman who explained lots to us.

Spent 6 hours at this N.T premises and if you like history this is well worth a visit, it is very informative and plenty to see, and the mill still works.

Lovely walk; just a bit too early for flowering. Great cafe for a break. Handy parking for those with a blue badge and a free buggy for getting around for those that need a lift. Volunteers were working hard to keep the gardens tip top. There is also a secondhand bookshop.

It’s a great day out, inside you can find a lot of interesting facts.
The house tour was great, we were pretty gutted that you couldn’t go upstairs. Nonetheless it was pretty cool to see the inside.
The cafe has very limited options; they don’t cater for gluten free either. I would definitely recommend bringing your own food. There is a lot of places outside to sit down too, which is great.

Had a lovely day out, lots of interesting things to see and do, all the volunteers and staff are very knowledgeable. It felt very real as if you were stepping back in time.
Apprentice house tour is brilliant, our guide brought it to life very well
Cafe is very expensive and limited choice, would recommend bringing your own food and drink, there are plenty of spots to sit down
All in all a lovely day out
