Visited the gallery to see the Althea McNish exhibition. It was a fascinating exhibit with all the information about her life. We enjoyed it then had tea and cake in the cafe afterwards. The venue is lovely in Lloyd Park. The other exhibits were interesting too. Great customer service by staff.

We used to come here frequently years ago. It has changed utterly and it was a very disappointing experience today, almost all the topclass art such as Rosetti’s portrait of Jane Morris has gone, (where?) the special atmosphere and sense of space has been lost and it felt more like an information centre.

Really lovely park. Plenty to see in the Gallery. Skatepark for the kids and a good array of food stools for the Saturday food market. Love it.

Gorgeous house, excellent exhibits, and one of the finest little cafes in London, the view from the balcony is so wonderful, the grounds & the park are lovely as is the tea!
1 star lost because on the Sunday I went there was some kind of very noisy gospel event happening in the grounds, OK, but the noise level was unnacceptable, very loud thumping bass from a noise nuisance level p a system, no matter where I walked in the grounds I couldn't escape it, which somewhat ruined the experience of being in nature with a babbling stream , and birdsong. Any other day of the week is probably fine.

Highly recommended. The William Morris exhibition is beautifully curated and covers the work and life of this astonishing man. It is full of exquisite things and interesting facts, and I came away fully informed and charmed. The exhibition is just the right size and very accessible. The building itself is also lovely (Morris lived there for a time), and the shop has a good selection of Morris merch, great for gifts and cards and books. The museum is run by the council and has free entry which is wonderful, but it's a nice idea to bring some cash to put in their donation boxes. Well worth a trip out to Walthamstow for.

Picked a sunny day. Good displays, helpful staff. Entry fee. Useful cafe, take coffess outside too Market in the park too

Fabulous and Free! Highly recommend a visit. Beautiful setting, friendly staff. Highly recommend the cafe. Fresh food and delicious cakes! Well worth a visit and it’s free!!

A handsome building set in parkland in a busy part of London. The Gallery is well organised and displays a great deal of material about William Morris and the wider Arts and Craft Movement. Regular interesting special exhibitions cover a broad range of related topics.

Couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable visit, only wish that I'd had more time!
This is a fantastic place to visit, whether you are familiar with William Morris or not. Beautiful designs and refreshing to learn more of his strong beliefs and involvement in socialism at the time.
The gallery is set in the lovely grounds of Lloyd Park, which even in mid November looked beautiful. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and even helped me further when I emailed after my visit to ask a question.
From what I could see, the gallery is fully accessible from the street and there is a lift inside providing access to all the floors. There are blue badge spaces within the gallery gates. There is a pay and display car park next door, but this only offers up to 2 hours, so if you're driving, you may want to park elsewhere. We had just under 2 hours in the gallery, but I think 3 hours would have been better.
The café looked wonderful, with plenty of options for different tastes and dietary requirements. It looked like a very popular spot. They had an amazing range of cakes available (the coconut and chia was particularly good) and loads of freshly made sandwiches too. Decent seating inside, albeit close together given Covid - we opted for takeaway and strolled round the park. On a dry day there is seating outside on a small balcony-like area overlooking the garden.
The gallery is wonderfully laid out and there are lots of different activities for children (and adults!) to enjoy, such as building, audio features, drawing, weaving etc. I thought the mirror repeat design activity was particularly clever. There is just so much to see for a relatively small space! Gallery 7 was especially interesting, I just wish we could say that we've achieved what Morris hoped and campaigned for.
This is a really special place. I can't wait to go back.

For socialists, this is a must. For lovers of art and design, it is equally irresistible. For anyone attuned to the serendipity that is multicultural London, they won’t be disappointed by a visit here. Delightful and inspiring!
