After completing my ML training with Graham a couple of months ago I have been successful in passing assessments including HML and Girlguiding specific qualifications. Graham is pragmatic and was a very helpful tutor. I would wholeheartedly recommend his services.

My partner and I recently participated in an introductory scrambling course via Graham Uney Mountaineering... our guide/instructor Joe was absolutely top-rate; neither of us had any previous experience but he ensured our safety at all times, explained everything clearly and concisely, and was also extremely good company and a pleasure to spend the day with. Highly recommended :)

Thank you Graham Uney for one of the best weekends ever! I can’t recommend Graham enough. I booked onto the course alone and was worried it might be a little awkward. But absolutely not, from the moment we met he put me at ease and was easy to talk to, and had plenty to laugh about while out. If any women out there who want to do a course and are worried about safety with an instructor; I can’t recommend Graham enough.
To top it all off I was absolutely spoiled with information, options and experiences which I never thought I would get. He informs, practises and tests with you in a manner that is fun and practical. Even in absolute downpour Graham had me working and seeing what is possible even in elements that seem against you.
I’ve come away from this feeling so much more confident in my capabilities, with new skills and knowledge; giddy to get out and go further.
I really can’t Thankyou enough Graham! 5 stars instructor without a doubt ♥️

I recently completed my Lowland Leader Award training and assessment with Graham. He is incredibly knowledgeable about a range of topics from rocks to birds and everything in between. He is an excellent navigation tutor. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to undertake a navigation or leader course.

My wife got me an introductory course to rock climbing with Graham as a birthday present - and it did not disappoint!
Graham’s communication around the day was excellent giving us a required kit list whilst assessing our skill levels and competence.
We met at ODG and had a chat before proceeding up to crag. Post a session on the gear, and how we were going to tackle the rock face and we were away, initial nerves overcome through Graham’s patient, calm and reassuring manner.
At the end of the day we did some learning around IDEAL belays (the final L being the tricky to remember Loaded). We were left with confidence to take the skills and use them and that is entirely due to Graham.
Would recommend this course to anyone interested in honing their skills.

I did a two day scrambling course with Graham in Snowdonia. We had a fantastic time, we learnt a huge amount & got to do some great scrambling. His knowledge of all areas of mountaineering is just outstanding.
Not my first course with him and certainly won't be my last. His style of teaching is calm & effective, whilst been delivered within a fun packed day.

Graham Uney runs a very good navigation course patient and he puts things over well and massively improved my skills would recommend him and would be happy to use his services again

Two great days of scrambling education. On day one Graham managed to get two of us smiling all the way up a grade 3 Scramble and on day two he took us somewhere easier and taught us the skills needed to safely lead a pitched scramble. His flexibility in accommodating our needs and wishes was superb and his ability to make each day more engaging with local history and flora and fauna knowledge was second to none. Having previously learned my winter hill skills from Graham I can now wholeheartedly recommend him as a well qualified and completely engaging instructor.

Graham really know the mountains well. Not just how to get up and down them and stay safe. He knows about their history, their geology and their wildlife. On every day, seven in total, I went somewhere new and learned something new.

Book a Grade 3 scrambling trip for myself and my wife. Idea was to get more familiar with rope work, gear placement etc. From the word go, Graham made us both feel relaxed and very welcome in his presence. He was very open when it came to how we would spend the day, and gave us several options to tailor the day to our needs. That was a nice touch.
During the day, we always felt safe, and that Graham was always in control. Again, this allowed us to relax and really enjoy the experience.
His knowledge is of course outstanding on the subject of climbing, gear and anything mountain related.
Would highly recommend his services to anyone wanting to increase their skills in the mountains.
