A friend and I did the 7.6km return walk to Baxter Creek Falls & loved it. It was lush & secluded and not many people were around. For me, the tall falls, swimming hole at the base & suspension bridge were the highlights. The walk forms part of the Sunshine Coast Great Walk but you can do this as a separate hike. We did the Southern Approach (Northern approach is also an option) which is accessed via Flaxton (turn into Flaxton Mill Road & follow for 1.5km and entrance is opposite Old Mill Lane). Wildlife was on full display - We saw a big blue tongue lizard, butterflies, blue dragonflies & heard lots of interesting bird calls. The start of the walk is open forest on an old access road and as you head down to the falls the track narrows as you enter tropical rainforest. The walk is a moderate 7.6km return with quite a bit of uphill on the way back, though it is not too steep. We enjoyed a rejuvenating swim at the base of the falls, which was gushing with water after the recent SEQ weather event, and enjoyed walking over the suspension bridge crossing Baxter Creek. The plantlife was amazing too. This is a little piece of paradise in the Sunshine Coast. We enjoyed breakfast at the The Barn cafe in Flaxton on the way in.

You can't go to Montville and not walk to Kondalilla falls in my humble opinion. It is well worth the effort and there are beautiful grounds to relax and rest in on your return if you desire and a swimming hole to cool off in if that takes your fancy too. Put it on your list of things to do.

We did this walk on a Sunday afternoon with our teens. The forest is beautiful and we heard a variety of bird calls. It’s an impressive waterfall. The view of the Obi Valley was awesome. We didn’t swim but there were swimmers. We followed the walking track signs which takes you down all the stairs with the slope ascent. Really lovely track, took us about an hour. Lots of lizards.

Although for us older people it was quite strenuous up and down uneven steps and lots of tree roots as trip hazards it was a great walk and loved it. The pools and falls are very pretty and well worth the aching limbs the following day!!!

Beautiful national park but we were unaware they have leeches!! I had one on me and my husband had 3 in his shoes!! You don't even need to be in the water or standing still. We will bring a lighter if we come back! :)

We came out to kondalilla after going into Noosa and not wanting to deal with the amount of people at the nation park and town.
Great choice, it was Friday afternoon and plenty of car parks available. Greeted with a large grassed area for picnics and rest areas, with well maintained amenities and picnic tables on the edge of the bush land.
The walk consisted of well maintained and signed tracks, the waterfall is 85 metres high and the gorge it runs into is breathtaking. With a great pool area at the top of the waterfall for bathing.
Defiantly recommend 10/10.

Superbly maintained track. Some great views. Fantastic eucalypts and remnant rainforest. No recent fires in the area. Excellent birdlife. An occasional koala. Great swimming holes in lovely rock pools. The area's top waterfall. Picnic area. Walks / hikes from 4 to 15km. Excellent accommodation on Kondalilla Falls Road.

The kondalilla fall circuit is about 4.8km return and was quite an enjoyable walk. Medium difficulty. Views of the falls - beautiful and worth time effort. A must do when visiting Montville

Firstly for those that love to connect with nature steer clear of weekends & public holidays. Far too many people who are not being respectful of the cathedral of special natural areas.
The Kondalilla Falls circuit walk is around 5km & good hike but be prepared. It can be very muddy & lots of slippery & steep areas not suitable for all & even to get to the main swimming hole WEAR Appropriate Footwear for hiking!!!!
If you don’t like this challenge please stay away.
Sadly the park is poorly signed, very limited for parking & l think the lack of any nature information along the way is very poor. No acknowledgement of the traditional owners & their history here is really unacceptable.

How long is the shortest walk to the falls? Is it stroller friendly?

Not sure of the distance, although I'd say at least a kilometre at a guesstimate. I wouldn't say the pathways are stroller friendly at all as they are just dirt with rocks in places, uneven and go up and down. I guess that's not what you wanted to hear but the falls are great if you can get there.
