Booked the English language tour online and found my way out there pretty easily by train. Tour was interesting, sake tasting was excellent, grounds were beautiful A wee free taster, then the tasting room where you choose as many as you like for 300-500yen, but you get to keep the cup for each one you taste. I had four, so walked away with four cups.
Walked along the riverside 1.3km up to the next train station (Mitake). Would've gone to the next one (2.8km further) but was quite warm and a little bit wobbly from the sake, so I stopped in at some wee diner across from Mitake Station and had a calming beer. Train home. I reckon I'd get off at Mitake next time, walk down to the brewery, then spend an afternoon sampling and lazing about.

何度行っても満足度100％です。
酒蔵見学は勉強になるし、利き酒もリーゾナブルなお値段で楽しいです。自分は、『木桶仕込 彩は』をいただき。
多摩川がとても近くに流れていて、周囲の木々の香りも最高でした。
何度でも行きたい。

A short trip from tokyo to arrive in the middle of the mountains. Great sake, wonderful location, at a very good price. I tried almost all the different kind of sake the have, and all of them were great!

We were fortunate to be in the area on one of the rare days an English tour is given, but I wouldn't let a Japanese language only tour deter you from visiting (they do have detailed English language brochures). The sake brewery itself is quite interesting and I learned a good bit about the brewing process. There is a tasting afterwards and you get to keep the very nice sake cup.
What I really liked the most though, was their picnic area where you can order delicious food and sit in a lovely outdoor dining area overlooking the Sawai river. We went for a casual stroll along the river after lunch. The tasting room in the same spot offers very affordable ($1-4 USD) pours of a dozen different sakes, and snacks as well. My husband and I met up with a friend there and had a great afternoon.

Visited Ome and the Ozawa Sake brewery as a day trip from Tokyo. The town is beautiful. We enjoyed a long walk along the river hiking trails before heading to the sake brewery. We went on the english tour which they offer once a week and enjoyed it throughly. Our guide gave a through good explanation and though the tour was brief (maybe 20-30 min) we found it enjoyable. The quality of the sake is much higher than most of what I've gotten locally in the states and it was fun to try the different varieties. The tasting room is very comfortable and it was nice to see so many locals meeting up for an afternoon sake or udon with friends. The udon shop below and the outdoor patio made for a lovely afternoon in the sun along the river.

予約して紅葉の時期に行きました。
正直、行かなくてもよかったかも・・。
たぶん、解説の人によっておもしろかったりおもしろくなかったりと、変わってくるのだと思います。
まったく面白くありませんでした。
つまらない大学の講義そのもの。講師の人は見学者の反応を見たり質問をしたり体験をさせたり・・ということは一切せず、専門的な知識を一方的に話すという講義をひたすらしていました。
まず座学が長い。想像以上に長い。かなりの時間、席に座ってホワイトボードで大学の講義です。
その後の見学も、ただ歩いて、何もない場所で止まって長い講義。を数回繰り返す。
見学中「これは何だろう？大きな樽だな」とか「瓶がいっぱい並べてある。昔のラベルだ。中にお酒が入っているのかな？」とか、個人的感想は持ちます。
しかし、それが何なのかはわからない。
講師の人は遠くで酵母の作用についての大変難しい講義をしています。

最初に着席して概要の案内を受け、靴底を清浄して蔵の中へ… 古い蔵と酒樽、木の酒樽、酒米や絞り工程の機器類など、酒造りの最中でなくとも、十分に酒造りを感じられます。お酒のカギとなる潤沢な泉も見学できます。季節のお酒を最後に試飲させていただき、東京都内にありながら、多摩の自然に恵まれ、美味しいお酒がつくれそうな確信が持てました。前後に軽食、またはしっかり食事したり、多摩川べりでのんびり(桜や紅葉の季節は見事！)自然をも満喫できます。

まず、酒造見学は予約が必要です。予約時間の5分くらい前には澤乃井園で受付を済ませ、酒造内に向かいます。（徒歩２－３分）
結構、ちゃんとした講義をして頂け、酒造内も見学でき、面白かったです。（所要時間は４０分くらい）
最後の試飲は自分で入れるスタイルなので、なみなみつがせていただきました（笑）
もちろん、おいしかったです！

I absolutely adored coming to this brewery. It was far from the city, so the scenery was very green and full of mountains. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the city after the tour as well.
The brewery was easy to find and a very short walk from the station. The only thing that I would recommend, is for an English speaking guide. They do give you pamphlets with everything they talk about, but you do end up missing out on the jokes and questions others ask.
The sake was phenomenal. After the tour, they give you a glass of sake to celebrate. Then you can go to the sake tasting room. There, you order your first sake for 200-500 yen (depending on the sake) and you keep the cup they give you and from then, the sake is only 100 yen to taste! Needless to say, we drank a lot of sake!!!
Below the tasting room, there is a tiny restaurant. We had some very delicious zarusoba and bought a bottle of our favourite sake and drank it all. Will come agian.

yes you can
