Hi Wendyam76! While you visit the old winery you go downstairs several times. Always down, 4 floors. If this could be an issue, we can take the elevator; no problem at all! To visit the new facilities you take a train and there are few steps at the end of the tour to walk to the Tasting Room. I think it’s not a big challenge, but don’t hesitate asking our guides for an elevator or assistance. We are glad to help!

Two of us showed up without any reservation for a tour, and could not get one. They let us in to the store and tasting area, even this part was difficult as I had to ask ( in perfect Spanish) to please let us in. I would suggest to email as they are very different than what we expect in NA. Even their idea of tasting is different, they serve you a full glass, it’s more like drinking. Codorniu flat out refused because we had no reservations even though they were empty, but told us they were full, yet parking lot empty. Very unwelcoming

Yes other people brought children and they seemed interested. There's a "train" ride at the end and they got grape juice instead of wine at the bar.

De tour waarover we het hebben, is een georganiseerde tour van 8 uren. We bezochten eerst het wijnhuis Juan Leonardo, nadien het wijnhuis Torres en nadien Freixenet. Op de eerste plaats kregen we een degustatie van 3 glaasjes. De tweede plaats een pairing met kaas en wijn. Bij Freixenet enkele krabbels en 2 glaasjes. Op de bus was een gids mee, en ter plaatse kregen we een plaatselijke gids mee. Ik denk, maar ben het niet helemaal zeker, dat wij meer zagen dan als je enkel je ticket ter plaatse koopt. Deze tour start op het Catalunya plein. Wij hebben onze tickets online besteld en waren hier zeer tevreden over. Hopelijk heb ik u wat kunnen helpen. Indien u nog verdere vragen heeft, wil ik je graag helpen.

Yes and yes to both questions; the R4 stops/connects both stations you mention, they are several minutes apart (beware of pickpockets/distractors though when purchasing tickets at Pl. Catalunya).

I was able to email the winery. The rep confirmed that you are able to visit the shop and tasting room without an entrance fee and without a reservation. They do, of course, charge for the wine you taste and tapas you eat :-)
