I was there now for the second time for further three excursions and it was magnificent again! Nothing more to add to all the other five stars ratings. If 6* were possible it would be worth it! I can only highly recommend it and will surely come again!

This feedback refers to a five days horse trek in the Supramonte area fromApril 23rd to 27th 2023.
Organization:
Our trek had been discussed and planned some months before by email with a former volunteer who was organizing treks for Sellasarda. This volunteer, Svetlana from Russia, went to great lenghts to answer all our questions regarding the upcoming trip, nothing was left to guessing. Some weeks before our trek started we communicated with the new volunteer, Barbara from Naples. Again we went into a very detailed discussion about practical aspects of the trek and what to bring.
Our first meeting with Pietro and Barbara was a warm and friendly welcome and we (my wife, a friend of ours and myself ) were invited for drinks at a local pub.
The trek proper started the next morning at Pietro`s stable where we were introduced to our horses. Pietro had selected our mounts reflecting the different levels of experience within our small group and the following days showed he had done so very expertly.
The horses:
All the horses were, though individual characters in their own way, of impressive surefootedness. Even in very steep and rugged terrain we never felt insecure on our mounts. Though being highly sensitive to commands they never reacted overexcited or anxious and were in general easy to handle.
The area:
Our trek took us through the very heart of the Supramonte mountains, the scenery was very versatile and changed several times during the course of one day. Our trek led us through untouched forests of cedar and oak, over pastures with flocks of sheep and to viewpoints of magnificent panoramas. As for wildlife we encountered wild horses, saw falcons and came upon groups of „mufflones“.
The team:
The trek was led by Pietro and we could not have wished for a better guide. Having worked all his life in that very area he knew every nook and cranny by heart. Whatever our questions were regarding fauna, flora or local history, Pietro left nothing unanswered. He also had a keen eye on his guests and was always helpful in an unobtrusive way. Being an expert when it came to Sardinian food, we were treated with delicious barbecues and hearty lunches, always consisting of local ingredients, often from his own garden and washed down with tasty red wine, also by Pietro`s making.
Barbara from Naples, volunteer in residence, made up the rear in our trekking. Being a terrific rider, her Napolitanian temperament and her exquisit command of the English tongue made her the ideal interpreter between guide and guests. In the evening we were met by Luciano, always the friendly driver from Orgossolo, bringing our gear for the night and fodder for the horses and sharing the sundowner beer with us.
Overall impression:
Our Supramonte horse trek was in all aspects an outstanding experience, very professionally conducted and rich in personal touches! We are very grateful for this chance to experience Sardinia at its best. Strongly recommended for everyone who loves riding in a stunning environment and warmhearted company!

When planning my trip I saw the 125x 5* ratings and no others and thought "that is a fake". But it wasn't. To differ a little in the rating I would like to give 6* ;-) (unfortunately impossible).
There are already lots of ratings from beginners so I would add one from 40 years of riding experience.
This horses (Sardinian Anglo-Arabs) are just fantastic: I never saw such sure-footed horses before. They run through the steep, small and rocky mountain paths as if walking in a parc. They must have been mountain goats in a former life. They are really fast and if you are a good rider there are several good galopps possible.
The landscape is really fascinating. If you like the mountains you are at the right place here.
You feel that they love there horses, there Sardinia and what they do.
Although I don't speak a word Italian and Pietro only Italian we were able to communicate perfectly well. In case of doubt the google translator helped.
Thanks a lot again, Pietro, for this great time! You are a perfect guide and I will surely come again!

Brilliant 3 hour ride with incredible views and scenery!! Great people and horses - would highly recommend to anyone within a few hours; it’s worth the journey!

Bonjour
Je rentre d'une excursion de 5 jours à cheval avec Sella Sarda- à orgosolo, c'était une expérience inoubliable8. Une façon de découvrir la Sardaigne de l'intérieur entre forêts et montagnes. Tout au long des cinqs jours nous avons croisés des chênes centenaires, des monuments de plus de 3000 ans, des chevaux sauvages, ...
Nous avons dormi dans des maisons de pasteurs typique, dansé avec l'armonica, se laver dans des sources, mangez typique..
Pietro, est un passionné, vous n'êtes pas un simple touriste, en une semaine on partage des moments telle une petite famille.
Les galops sont fantastiques
Pour ce type d'excursion, il faut être cavalier, mais il organise aussi des journée avec pic nic, des excursions de 2 jours ou encore des promenades entre 2 et 8h
Je vous recommande vraiment cette adresse, pour les amoureux du cheval...vous ne serez pas déçu.

I am not sure what I was expecting, perhaps a perfectly ordinary ride in the countryside. What I got instead was a 5 hour trail into a magical land above Orgosolo with horses as sure footed as mountain goats. Nevermind if you are inexperienced, the horses are well trained and know the terrain well.
We left the stables on the horses slowly making our way up towards the forest, as we entered the shade, the sparkling light of the afternoon sun filtered through the trees. Shortly after, we arrived in an area full of gnarled ancient trees, we had arrived at the Neolithic Domus de Janus, the dwelling of fairies according to Sardinia folklore. Curious capsules of hollowed out stone pods, inexplicable how it was done, we saw rocks that look like it was carved out from within. After going through this enchanted forest, suddenly we broke through a terrain of vast open pastures, lightly undulating, where wild horses roamed free, as did pigs and their baby piglets and goats and sheep, no animal was fenced. It was beautiful to see these animals roaming freely. We went pass 3 lakes, and then stopped at a rustic hut where we were treated to a picnic of a shepherd’s meal with cheese and charcuterie, all washed down by sulfurless organic red wine. Needless to say it was Km 0 meal. In the evening light we headed back riding into the sunset.
From a human and experience point of view, the whole thing was absolutely priceless. Pietro is a unique and open hearted person and he designed a unique experience and he made us feel like part of his family and we enjoyed picturesque scenery and laughter. Having travelled widely, the experience plus a light meal included etc, in our opinion his rates are underpriced. Pietro deserves success for his endeavors. We highly recommend this place for its unique landscape and his horses. It’s is a true sardinian experience, one that is different from just the usual sun and beach.

Spettacolare.
Escursione per i 3 laghi bellissima con viste mozzafiato. Cavalli educatissimi consigliato anche per persone senza esperienza. Senza escludere la compagnia della guida Pietro che è una persona squisita. Consigliatissimo

Wir waren heute das erste Mal reiten und es war ein wundervolles Erlebnis mit Pietro. Die Pferde sind sehr einfühlsam und trittsicher. Wir empfehlen jedem Pferdebeigesterten diesen Ausflug. Danke Pietro :)

Non ero mai stato a cavallo, ma e' stata un'esperienza vermante entusiasmante!
Pur essendo un principiante, abbiamo fatto un' escursione di 3 ore senza alcuna difficolta'. Anzi, Pietro e' stato in grado di farmi fare un po' di trotto e di galoppo.
Bravissimo istruttore, grande esperienza, professionalita' e cordialita'.
E' in grado di capire cosa puoi fare o non fare in sicurezza.
Oltre al fascino paesaggistico ho scoperto anche quello dei cavalli!
E' stata la giornata piu' bella trascorsa con la mia compagna in Sardegna.
Pur essendo un principiante, abbiamo fatto un' escursione di 3 ore senza alcuna difficolta'. Anzi, Pietro e' stato in grado di farmi fare un po' di trotto e di galoppo.
Bravissimo istruttore, grande esperienza, professionalita' e cordialita'.

Hello! Our address is Via Egidio Mesina, 6, Orgosolo (NU). There’s an our office there where we receive people before the tour and give them the riding equipment. The manege is in 5 minuets from there in the country side in Via Gurruispa. Please, note the fact that we receive people only by the booking in advance by tel/WhatsApp: +393313475401
