Although we paused outside this lovely historic palazzo, we didn’t realise at the time that had we gone inside, through the white arched doorway, there was a beautiful balcony-like courtyard with a panoramic view of Porto Recanati and beyond to Loreto and the Adriatic Sea.
The imposing facade sits right on via Cavour. It’s rather austere and uninviting which is perhaps why it didn’t occur to us to walk on through - a missed opportunity.
An information board near the main doorway gives a potted history. The palace was designed in 1473 century for Cardinal Giacomo Venieri. Despite having deep pockets himself, the local community contributed 1500 gold ducats to the construction costs. Apparently this was considered a fair exchange. In return, the community would benefit because distinguished VIPs might now be encouraged to visit Recanati as guests of the Cardinal. Once the palazzo was built, they would have somewhere elegant to stay. It did in fact work. Venieri was well-connected and both Pope Paul III and Pope Pius VII were guests at the palace.
The palazzo remained unchanged until 1729 when it was sold to the Carradori family who put their own stamp on it, rebuilding it almost completely.
Today it houses the Giacomo Leopardi secondary school.
Entry is free.

Bellissimo balcone che permette una visuale fino a Porto Recanati e il mare che la circonda è possibile scorgere anche la cappella della basilica di Loreto, assolutamente consigliato!

Palazzo bellissimo. Resta una grande scoperta perché custodisce al suo interno un chiosco di autentica bellezza. Abbiamo visto da lì lo scorcio più bello di tutto il borgo. Il palazzo è visitabile e ospita anche delle università. Imperdibile

L'austero palazzo in mattoni a vista ha l'ingresso sulla centralissima via Cavour, ma lato cortile si affaccia sulle mura da dove si gode uno splendido panorama sulle colline circostanti e sul mare Adriatico, si vede molto bene anche il santuario di Loreto e il promontorio del Conero. Il palazzo fu fatto costruire a fine quindicesimo secolo dal cardinale Giacomo Venieri, da cui tuttora prende il nome, ma venne completamente riedificato nel '700. Attualmente una parte dell'edificio è sede del liceo classico Giacomo Leopardi.

Bel palazzo storico dove entrando all’interno, superato il piccolo arco, ci troviamo in un ampio cortile dal quale si può ammirare un bellissimo panorama delle colline e dintorni. Per problemi di tempo legati all’organizzazione del tour, non abbiamo potuto visitarne i dettagli. Il palazzo, dedicato al Cardinale Venieri, risale al 1473 e attualmente ospita la sede di scuola superiore del liceo classico Giacomo Leopardi.

Da fuori sembra un bel palazzo storico ma nulla di più: entri e trovi un cortile che è quasi una piazza, e una terrazza che offre un panorama incredibile. Sicuramente da non perdere. Un palazzo vivo, perché ospita scuole e altri istituti civili che lo rendono sempre aperto e frequentato. Il palazzo risale al 1473.

Dal piccolo arco nel cortile si gode di uno stupendo panorama, Il cortile stesso è spesso teatro di iniziative culturali e ricreative nella stagione estiva.

Non ho visitato internamente il palazzo, per la maggior parte ospita la scuola superiore. Però di solito è aperto l'ingresso e il chiostro, e da li si può vedere un bellissimo panorama

I lavori di costruzione di questo antico palazzo risalgono al 1473 anno in cui Anton Giacomo Venieri divenne cardinale.
Dopo la morte del cardinale l'edificio subì un lungo abbandono e venne acquistato successivamente dal conte Roberto Corradori. Venne costruita una cappella dove furono collocate le 7rono completamente trasformati nel 1700 e dell'antica costruzione non rimane che il peristilio con un caratteristico arco balcone sormontato da un orologio con la scritta "Volat irreparabile Tempus".
Da qui è possibile ammirare una stupenda veduta verso Loreto e il Conero.

Costruito dal Cardinale Venieri nella seconda metà del XV secolo, ha subito diverse trasformazioni. Oggi è occupato da un liceo classico intitolata a Giacomo Leopardi. Delle antiche vestigia, rimane solo un cortile interno circondato da un porticato con un caratteristico arco balcone sormontato da un orologio con la scritta sottostante “Volat Irreparabile Tempus”. Da qui si può ammirare un’ampia veduta sulle colline marchigiane.
