If you avoid the crowded and to take relax with peacefully , you should try this. You can relax with silent environment except the sound of boat, you can eat delicious and health food and you can touch the nature and free the digital environment .

You have to love a whole compound of Burmese Cats anywhere in the world but in Burma! That's just fantastic! And what gorgeous accommodation these cats have. The Cat Village is attached to the Inle Heritage, a restaurant and accommodation (for two legged people) and was begun to preserve the continuance of these royal cats. It was such a pleasure to visit and to see them all luxuriating in their opulent and spacious surroundings. Talk about fall on your feet! Could have spent ages here. The cats all looked very well; healthy and happy, going about their cat business - sleeping, fighting, ignoring the people, sleeping, eating, sleeping, fighting..........
Ask your boatman to take you here.
Oh and there's a small shop on the way out for your cat themed product needs........

I was really looking forward to seeing the cat preservation centre and how Inle Heritage has managed to reintroduce the Burmese cat to the Inle area, but I was overwhelmingly disappointed to see that some of the cats were mistreated.
It is quite obvious that several of the cats are unwell, perhaps even severly ill. Some had breathing problems, some had severe issues with their hips or pelvis which made it difficult for them to walk properly, some had had their tails partially cut off, and others had other issues like frothing around their nose which could be indicative of infections.
Some of these are symptoms which a proper vet should be able to treat. Inle Heritage claim on their website that a vet comes by every two months to tend to the cats, but this is quite hard to believe.
It is not difficult for anyone who is interested in the wellbeing of animals to see that the cats are not treated well. Inle Heritage should reconsider whether they should continue breeding cats, and visitors should be aware of what kind of place they are supporting by visiting the cats.

Bella struttura pensata per educare le nuove generazioni alle tradizioni locali da mettere a servizio della crescente industria turistica. Qui vengono formati cuochi e maestranze che faranno conoscere agli stranieri il meglio che la loro terra può offrire. In un settore dell'Heritage sono ospitati i pochissimi gatti birmani rimasti al mondo, mentre in alcune stanze sono in mostra i tradizionali strumenti di pesca nel lago. Anche questo è un angolo del lago Inle che non va tralasciato

As a cat-lover I was surprised to find this place with these lovely animals, playing, running and climbing.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce fabuleux hôtel 🏨! Le service était impeccable, le restaurant délicieux et le concept super!
Il s’agit d’un hôtel mais également d’une école d’hôtellerie, avec une organisation totalement écologique, responsable et durable ! Et auto-gérer!
Tout les légumes du restaurant viennent du potager de l’école.
Il on également un foyer pour chat abandonné, un aquarium où il entretienne les espèces endémiques du lac avant de les relâcher dans la nature pour éviter la sur-pèche, et une piscine .
Les étudiants travail dans l’hôtel pour apprendre le métier , ils ont donc l’obligation de l’excellence.
Et ça se ressent.
Seul micro bémol, il faut louer son propre bateau pour s’y rendre ce qui tourne autour de 18000 kyats l’aller de Nyanug Shwe. Soit 10euros. Donc 20 aller-retour.
Mais en conclusion allez y vous serais ravis !

if you love cats, you must visit Inle Heritage! they breed the Burmese cats and you can play with them for 30min. the staff is very nice too. this place has incredible things to visit: their own organic garden and an aquarium too. it's a hotel, restaurant, htm and cooking school too

I would agree with the other reviewers that they should put more detailed info on the website, it was a disheartening that on my last day at inle i only know the guided tour ended at 2.30pm
Since we came at 5pm, the only attraction was the gift shop. The Burmese Cat Sanctuary looked lovely but none of the cats are there as they were having a rest. For other travelers, i attached the guided tour visiting time in the photos as well

We enjoyed a fabulous cooking class at the Thahara Inle Heritage Cooking School. We went as part of Gate 1 Travel group tour and there were 20 of us. After visiting the gardens and picking our fresh ingredients, we went to our cooking stations and each couple had their own sour chef/assistant to help them prepare a full course lunch; which we devoured later to our utter delight! We have participated to many cooking classes on previous trips, but I must say this was one of the best. Afterwards we visited their Burmese Cat rescue center and interacted with a whole group of wonderful felines, including kitties.

I tried to write an honest review previously and of course it got removed. I am an obsessive cat lover and therefore of course was looking forward to visiting the ‘sanctuary’. Within minutes of entering this establishment I Ieft. The cats are sick and they are not well taken care of at all. A sad example of money over actual care and attention for these beautiful cats. Shame on you.
