‪I had read about this place. I am a bird watcher and so this place interested me. We went on a Thursday morning. There were four of us in our party, one of us used a wheelchair. The park had a 2.5 kilometer trail that is accessible by wheelchair. Even from the trail, the view of the sea is breathtaking.
As soon as you come in, the roar of the speeding vehicles on the highway fade because the bird calls insulate you. It is cool because of the towering trees. The fee is only P20. If you are a student, you can go in at half the price. A PWD can come in for free. There is parking for vehicles. There are bathrooms near the entrance.
It is accessible as it is right on the highway going to the Laguindingan Airport from Iligan City. On the other side of the highway, there is the Lasang Secret Adventure. Unlike Initao, which has a view of the sea, Lasang provides a hilly climb and the chance to see monkeys and tarsiers. Wear comfortable shoes. Bring water to drink and food to eat as there are no stores around where you can buy food or water. Bring sandals or rubber slippers in case you want to wade in the clear water.‬

‪A nice getaway location for a picnic, a walk, or even photo opportunites. About an hour's drive west of Cagayan de Oro city is the Initao-Libertad Protected Landscape and Seascape. There is a highway that divides the park in half with the southeast side the "Protected Landscape" and the northwest side the "Protected Landscape and Seascape." There is a nominal fee to enter.

Covered picnic areas can be found alongside the driving path into the park. It doesn't appear that you need reservations, just pull up alongside one of the areas and unload your things.

We spent about an hour here doing a prenuptial photo shoot for our upcoming wedding. Nice places along the shore to have pictures done although we didn't see any beach, the coast is a little rocky, but shallow enough if you dared to take a dip.

Signs say "Don't feed the monkeys" however we saw no monkeys on this visit, only a two-foot lizard that scampered across our path as we drove out. There are some really giant butterflies here, as well.‬

‪Best way to describe this place probably great when first opened now a dump and in places a danger to life and all the staff was interested in was asking if we had paid for a cottage‬

‪The mini thick forest within the highway makes this place very attractive. This place is a protected forest reservation manage by DENR personnel.‬

‪The map at the entrance shows beach areas. Hmmmm -- great. That's what we are here for. So we can enjoy the waves... and cool off after a long walk...

not...

no beach areas ANYWHERE!!! DECEPTIVE!!!

and cough up the extra money if you are a foreigner!!! They charge you 3X if you are a foreigner! Yeah!!!

It's just a walk in the woods! There a few outlooks -- but you can get that anywhere - and not have to PAY for it.

You want something great to see? FREE???

Go to Iligan and see the pole people - a whole village on poles over the ocean! Really something to see. To get there you have to cross a hanging swerving bridge. Don't worry about keeping your balance. Just scamper across. Don't go slowly...

Then walk to town. You'll love it, and the people...‬

‪The place is good for picture taking. You may opt to swim at the seascape. You may find peace and serenity in the place. Having a car helps a lot since the place is so big.‬

‪We spent an hour or so walking around the roadways and along the shore paths , but I think we saw 3 birds and some tall timber and that was about it , could not go to the toilet cos it was locked so generally a waste of a couple of hours on a very warm day .‬

‪Ever since grade school i loved this place so much. However, i notice that there are a lot of changes happened to the park. Like the cemented foot path, as big as cars can pass. Barbed wires lined as gates. Constructed villas and cottages. People can wash their dishes and clothes, which is not possible before since detergents and soaps may seep down tot he caves and affect the chemistry of water that the bats are dependent on with. Plus invasive and non native species of trees are now introduced in this forest. I'm not really comfortable saying this but this park i think has turned into a flashy resort. Seriously, ridiculous entrance fees and fees to a lot of things. I hope they are not planning to put up a slide and zip line flushing out to the sea. I hope not.‬
