I was a bit disappointed. I think this has once been glorious and has potential to again. We took my 2 year old grandaughter and she was happy on the slides but I came away wondering where all the animals were.
What on earth was Miss Sophie about?? You wouldve been better to have just badged it kids entertainment.
There were a list of animal experiences but they clashed with Miss Sophie so we didnt even get to stroke a rabbit or guinea pig.
And at the end of the day the dinosaurs - a load of oversized models - was shut!!
Come on guys, i know its early in the season but this wasnt what you promised.

I took my kids to Marsh Farm on Sunday 9th March. We were there from 11:30 to 16:00. There was so much to do! From x2 outdoor playgrounds, inflatable bouncy pillows, meeting farm animals, indoor soft play, role play village, mini pedal tractors, indoor soft play... And that's only the things we managed to do on the day, as there was lots more!
A great place to take kids when it's good weather. We brought a picnic and we had a great time. Also a great way to get the kids active and tired out for a good night's sleep 😄
It's great value for money as there is lots to do! I would highly recommend it.

This was honestly such a waste of money and a waste of a day off. We ended up visiting the nearby zoo to so that we coud actually see some animals with our 18month old and only then did we have nice day.
The Farm:
Pigs
Alpacas (and a llama)
Goats
Pygmy goats (I think)
And sheep
Those were all the animals. There was also no interaction with any of them.
The indoor soft play was just okay, the section for older kids was probably much better as it was understandably so much bigger than the toddler bit.
The restaurant (which shares the same area as the soft play) was super over priced, but the food was decent enough.
Overall we left because there was very very little to do (really almost nothing to do), the atmosphere sucked, the busiest place was the food court, and we had seen all of the animals in the first 5minutes

We apologies you had a negative experience with us and hopefully I will address your points below.
In regards to animals it seems to be you have missed 3 main areas where our animals are kept (the woodland walk, the rodent room and the stables) these areas house the majority of our animals so we do apologies if you was unaware of this we try out best to ensure it is clearly signed and are always working to improve signage. In reagards to interactions with the animals these are all done at selected times as advertised on your daily program we apologies if this was not clear.
We are glad you enjoyed our food and we take your comments about price on board.
We hope you will give us another try soon

We visited this weekend and had a very relaxed and fun day. There are so many different play areas for different ages , a massive sand pit, bouncy pillows , rides, a train journey, as well as a roleplay area.
Then there is the tractor play area, the soft play barn and amazing dinosaur world and of course lots of lovely animals.
We spent 5 hours here and could easily have stayed longer - my kids had a great time and have already asked when we can return.
I don’t understand people leaving bad reviews … is the food overpriced - yes - but that’s the case in almost every place these days - eating out will cost you money - that’s the same everywhere you go. However they do invite you to bring a packed lunch and supply many eating areas.
This comments about the lack of animals - it’s not just a farm - it’s a play adventure - that’s being said - there were many animals and lots of feeding areas (food supplied by the farm too) plus meet and greet opportunities - you can’t blame the farm if the animals wanted to stay in bed or hide in their shelters - they are living animals and well done to the farm for providing areas where the animals can hide away if they wish.
The dino area was fantastic - my boys would have been happy if that was the only thing available , so many dino facts and fun things to do. Yes the paper had ran out for the interactive screen - but to solve this problem we simply asked a member of staff to provide more and they did. How are they to know that some kids had used or taken all the dinosaur pictures? How can you leave a bad review because of this?
Other comments giving bad reviews about other people’s kids being horrible - how is that the farms fault? Or even that the farm had to close under emergency situations like high winds or storms - the farm were keeping you and your children safe , imagine if they remained open and an accident happened? The farm doesn’t close just for fun and closing cost them a lot of lost revenue and paperwork. When the farm did close (as this happened to us) they gave a return visit for free - I don’t see what people are complaining about.
And moaning that it’s dirty? It’s a farm - what did you expect? There are animals , kids, dust , hay and all sorts - it’s an outdoor play area??? How can it be immaculately clean every 5 minutes? The toilets were of a decent standard with handwashing gels and toilet roll - I don’t know what else people were expecting.
As for the staff - we saw plenty floating about , all were friendly and welcoming and the man in the cafe (who made an amazing chocolate little boy) went above and beyond to make my kids day. I forgot his name , but he was quite young, brown hair and wears glasses - he deserves an extra shout out.
All in all - a family day out is what you make it - I’d come back in a heartbeat - very well run and a great facility. Keep up the great work marsh farm - we will see you again

We are so glad you had such a great time with us and enjoyed our range of activities over the 5 hours you were with us particularly our “massive sand pit, bouncy pillows, rides, a train journey, a roleplay area. The tractor play area, the play barn and the dino area and animals.

Haven’t been to marsh farm in years it’s definitely not as good as it used to be, hardly a farm very few animals just a lot of different play areas, the food was nice but very pricey and so noisy as the indoor play area is in the same building so hearing anyone is impossible we struggled for room at a table as they are very small considering it’s amid at family’s any more than two children and two adults you would struggle to sit. The kids enjoyed themselves on the playgrounds but not really a place to go to see animals.

We appreciate your comments about animals and take them on board. We are an animal adventure park, meaning our animals are a very small part of our offering as we focus on a wide range of activities to entertain young people.

I think other than the bouncy pillows, its lacking in fun things to do. Like the previous comment - there was barely any staff and the one at the kiosk wasnt very helpful when asking where things are located you was just sort expected to guess yourself. Rarely any decent animals to look at, not much going on no feeding sessions other than little animals. Most of activities were not open. My big issue is the fact i went to go change my babies nappy and it was a toilet shared with men, no privacy and that is just horrific it resulted in me leaving and changing his nappy in my car. Not too bad for price but needs some improvements especially toilets.

Thanks for you review
We apologies you felt we did not have enough for you to do during your visit. In regards to activities they was all open for your visit excluding our seasonal ones
We apologies you felt the kiosk wasn't helpful our staff try their best to give advise and we are always retraining our team so they are able to give you all the information you need. For future visits on the back of your program there is a map as well on our app to help with finding activities.
In regards to toilets one of our toilets (playbarn) is unisex to best help parents with multiple children. We do have 3 other toilets on site that are separate genders.
We hope your give us another try soon

Nothing open on a Saturday. Hardly any staff at all?! Half the activities closed. Only kiosk open was on the way out by the exit. Even the toilets were closed. Machines not working. Needs a bit of tlc and money spent. Not worth £40

We are sincerely sorry you had a negative experience with us and hopefully, the points below will explain your points
Regarding “nothing being open” during your visit all our attractions and activities were open apart from our seasons ones (pool, ROSSI snack shack etc etc) but we try our hardest to make this clear on our website when booking. We do apologise that one of our toilet blocks was out of order due to matters outside of our control and are awaiting repairs. I'm regards to machines we are unsure of what you are referring to.
In regards to the staff, we were fully staffed for your visit to what we believe we needed our goal is to always have plenty of staff to be able to ensure guests have the best experience meaning minimal waiting and great customer service we apologise if we didn't mean that for you and we are regularly reviewing staff levels to ensure we meet that goal.
We take all your comments on board regarding repairs and price
I hope this clears up your worries.

Really enjoyed our visit to Marsh Farm as a family. There have been a lot of new additions to the farm since we last visited, with the New Dinosaur area which the kids loved and the area with the outside beach area and fun fair rides. The park was clean and tidy throughout and plenty to do and see. Overall a great day had by all. Will definitely visit again soon!

To be honest I was disappointed for the money we paid. There was not many animals and no animals to feed. The rides and playground are good and the show was very short. I feel there could be much more activities for the children to do and not a glorified playground. The food is very expensive and not all our order was put through. In all a very expensive day out.

Beautiful super Sunday shape-shifting with Moana the Voyager Princess, creating SandArt, feeding the animals, excavating dinosaur fossils, playing in the park, role-play village & indoor soft-play, making sandcastles, jumping on carousel rides, bounce-pillows & double-decker buses, down the fastest slide, through the chicken or egg maze, tinkling piano ivories & enjoying ice-cream - WayFinder Day found way more fun, education & value than meets the eye - thanks to all at Marsh Farm. Family memories are made of these.

Once inside the farm can you go out to your car and get back in ?

Yes, you get a wristband once you have paid, so no problem going to your car. There are also lots of grassed areas around the farm to have picnics.

Marsh Farm covers quite a large area but is wheelchair friendly could also recommend Stay and Play in Laindon for a 2nd birthday x Nanny Gel

Hi, you can get a bus from Chelmsford bus garage to south woodham ferrers, approx. 12-15 min walk from there, phone bus garage for timetable, and ask driver to stop as near as possible.

If you go on there website and use the drop menu and plan your day there have details on how to get there via bus.

Everything is free once you have paid the entrance fee, apart from food and drink. Wonderful place with so much for little ones to do; aswell as all of the lovely animals of course!
