‪Love it here. I take my 90 year old dad, who is 90 and onset dementia most weeks to get him out of the house and give him fresh air and exercise. Nice distanced walks around the lakes, with the benefit of free parking and the café for a cup of coffee and a naughty piece of cake. Love it here. There's always different things going on in the water. And lot's of wildlife to watch.‬

‪feeding the ducks is fine though the swans are quite aggressive so be warned if you have toddlers-
the cafe food was tasty but quite expensive if you have a few children (£12 for a burger £7 for a kids)-
no matter what time of the day you go it is heaving, the play park is a long walk from the carpark for little kids
the problem a lot of us had in our group of mums with toddlers was the irresponsible dog walkers (and no I'm not talking about the great dog walkers, whose dogs are well behaved , they carry bags etc, they're a pleasure and our kids all love talking to them and asking to stroke their dogs!)but the ones who let their ill behaved pets chase and bite the ducks(saw 2 with broken legs!), scare the children and think its all funny-and all those parents who have had to wipe poo off wriggling kids shoes before you get back in the car will know how much fun that is!
would we go again? probably not‬

‪Had a wonderful walk with my daughter at the Aquadrome. There was a lot of wildlife to see and also water-skiers. A very pleasant day and excellent that the parking is free to encourage people to get out for some exercise.‬

‪Love visiting this place!

We love nothing more than grabbing a coffee and then setting off on our walk.

All kids loved it! Fed the ducks , play on the park and grabbed an ice cream at the end.

Perfect way to spend our morning!‬

‪We like to spend our time at the parks, it was a lovely experience, but especially in the afternoon it became very crowded with lots of people walking with dogs. But it was a good spot for families.‬

‪There are so many different places to walk here, canal, river, lake that even on a rare sunny day you can stay away from people. Park on the road near the water station rather than the car park as there are fewer people but also the hedgerows are full of sparrows and fieldfare and a flooded field has lots of birds before you reach the lake. The paths are currently very flooded so best to wear wellies if you want to walk round Stockers Lake. There are lots of open sided hides that are open, the best one for birds is the kingfisher hide because there is a feeder as well as a view of the lake. So much to see pochard, tufted duck, grebes, woodpecker (green and greater spotted), blue, great and long tailed tit, robins, fieldfare, redwing and squirrels!‬

‪A good spot for people of all ages to get out, take a stroll and enjoy nature.

The Aquadrome is a series of lakes starting with Batchworth adjacent to Rickmansworth and moving on to Bury Lake, Stocker's Lake and the thin Inns Lake and Springwell lake. The lakes continue along the Colne valley and they form the north western end of the Colne Valley Park. A series of country parks, nature reserves, lakes and ornamental gardens that boarders London in an arc from Rickmansworth to Windsor. The Aqudrome sits between the river Colne to the north and Grand Union Canal to the south. The lakes are created from long finished gravel workings and have been turned to wildlife and recreation since the early 1980s. They are managed for different things - with wildlife the focus for Stocker's Lake - which is managed by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. Batchworth and Bury are more about water based recreation. However, in these strange times there is no organised boating and the birds are undisturbed by boats on Bury and Batchworth too. The paths around Bury and Batchworth are surfaced which makes them good for accessibility, while the gravel path around Stocker's is a little muddy in places, but much easier going than trying to walk in open countryside in such wet conditions. It is a good place to come if you are starting out birdwatching as it is very easy to see lots of common and some more unusual water birds. As well as swans, coots, moorhens, tufted ducks, pochard, shoveler and great crested grebe it is reasonably easy to see the more unusual goldeneye and red crested pochard. One of the best spots to engage with nature around NW London.‬

‪It's a beautiful place for a walk, picnic, anything outdoors really. It's got water, woodlands and many birds. In the warmer months, you can almost always watch somebody doing some kind of watersport. It's extremely popular with families, so much so that if you try to go there after 10 AM on a lovely Sunday, no matter what season, you won't get a space in the actually very very big and free car park.‬

‪A lovely place to have a stroll, enjoy the outdoor life or have a picnic in the summer months where you can watch the jet skis, also see tents pitched up for fishing. Along the footpath around the Aquadrome you have openings to view, a bench to rest up and enjoy the view.‬

‪The Aquadrome was an excellent venue for a walk and then to finish with a cup of tea and a bite to eat.
It is free to park and enter, with well maintained walks and lots of information about the wildlife and plants. As you walk there are lots of places to stop with benches to enjoy the view. There is a special fenced off area for families where no dogs are allowed. A very good day out. ‬
