From the Lugton Road this course catches the eye, in particular the signature par 3 third hole; however the rest of the course is unremarkable and there are lots of holes across hills with dramatic side sloping fairways which makes several drives a bit of a lottery. The 18th is an interesting finish, but it's a long uneventful journey to get there.
No food available after we finished our round at 5pm on a hot, sunny evening as the kitchen was closed; and two of the fours gents' showers were out of order and the other two didn't work. Oh dear!

I joined Caldwell a few Months back and the course is kept in a pristine condition and the course is playing great...I would highly recommend that you either become a member or it’s a must to play this great course as a visitor 👌👍

Fantastic course in great condition especially the signature 16th par 3. I look forward to playing Caldwell again and would advise all to play. If you are a long hitter you may want to play off white tees but great setup for all levels to enjoy. The food after was excellent.

My friends and I visited Caldwell after being told many a time how good the food was. I now agree wholeheartedly with this as we had an excellent meal. The food was hot, well presented and the service was brilliant. We had different starters which we shared, this was great because we had a taste of everything. We then all opted for fillet steak for main course. We all wanted it cooked differently and everyones steak was absolutely spot on. The meat was very tender and tasted exceptional. I would recommend Caldwell, and myself and friends will definitely be back. Great customer service. Thank you.

A reasonably challenging course with some blind shots. If you have belief in your shot and hit the puts confidently then it is no problem, but beware timerous shots they will catch you out.

I took a party of 20 golfers to this course and we all liked it so much we are going back In May/June this year. We received a warm welcome from the staff. We enjoyed the food and in my opinion it was second to none in taste and content. I will give the day a good 9 out of ten

We played this mostly flat, tree-lined Parkland Course for the 1st time today & as tree-lined courses go, this one is forgiving. There are issues though, Greens & Fairways are in decent condition but ... some walks from Green to next Tee are long & poorly laid out making this is a very difficult course to navigate if you're a Visitor!
I also strongly suspect this course may be very susceptible to water, despite the recent dry weather, there's still a lot of standing water & many parts are very spongy & damp.
The overall impression of this course is that it's featureless ... it's just back & forward, straight up & down golfing with very few remarkable holes in rather bland surroundings.
We took advantage of a ‘Deal’ & played for £14, usual Green Fees are £30.

Food is excellent, service the same. Catering staff offer an excellent menu at a good price. It's worth taking out social membership which is only a token amount to gain the opportunity to eat in the newly names Tower Restaurant.

My husband is a member of the golf club and so we arranged a couples night in the restaurant. The meals and drink are very reasonably priced and the meals are very big proportions and very tasty. Not only recommended for golfers.

hi their just a quick note about golf course traveled with 12 guys too play golf course good wee would like too thank the catering staff for a fantastic 3 course meal it was fabulous would play here again just for the food hwgs
