‪What a pity‬

‪This poor little lighthouse is falling to pieces. You can visit it from the lake or you have to drive to Murray Beach and walk for about 20 minutes. I still hope somebody will take care of this former cutie.‬

‪Sad to see a historic lighthouse neglected‬

‪The Cape George Lighthouse for decades marked the northern entrance to St. Peter's Inlet and as you can see has deteriorated to the point that I can't see it being salvageable. A minimalist daymark has been erected along side the original structure.‬

‪Cape George Lighthouse‬

‪There is no signage so replied on google maps to find. The "road" is eroding onto the beach so parked and walked in. Very dilapitated lighthouse, but still very beautiful. Unsure who currently owns this property, but it would be nice to see it be taken under the wing of the community or preservation society. It just needs to tlc. It's in a beautiful location.‬
