パネル展示やビデオ上映、ジオラマ模型もあるので手軽に大雪山の自然を学習できます。ロープウェイで黒岳の紅葉を鑑賞してから立ち寄りましたが、ここで知識を得てからロープウェイに乗るべきでした。

雨予報だったので登山情報の収集もかねて、２年ぶりに訪れました。顔見知りの職員さんと少しおしゃべり。施設の奥のほうに、いつのまにかテレビのモニターに流すタイプの映像設備ができていましたね。

今年は旭川から早朝に層雲峡入りしたので、登山後に「黒岳の湯」の割引券めあてで訪れました。ここで割引券をもらうと１００円引きで入れます。周辺各地の観光パンフもいろいろ置いてあるので、他にも割引券のある施設があるかも。

One would not expect plenty of 'wildlife' in a visitor center, but Sounkyo definitely top the list. Young children will go 'gaga' over the amount of animal display, from a huge bear, birds of all kinds and small mammals. Most probably the ánimals' are not real though. Plenty to do and see as well, while learning much about the Daisetsuzan National Park and its surroundings. Very spacious to accommodate huge groups. It was quiet during the off-peak season in November. The staff was very helpful in giving information of what to do in Sounkyo. If you are unsure what to do in Sounkyo, head over the visitor center, as it is also a "'to-do 'list in Sounkyo.

This is a free nature conservation facility which is filled with informative exhibitions of the Daisetsuzan National Park. From information about the various nature trails of the National Park, to videos of how the Park was formed millions of years ago, to photos of the rich seasons in the National Park and lifesize exhibits of some of the animals which roam the Park, this centre has it all.
There is even a lounge area for travellers to take a short rest and toilet facilities. Generally a quiet venue where visitors observe silence Suggest to visit this centre before starting your nature walk or Ropeway activities; this is a good alternative centre to seek answers to your enquiries besides the tourist information centre at the bus station which is a smaller and more crowded place.
This centre is open everyday from June to October, but closed on Mondays from November to May (closed on Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday).

訪れたのは４年ぶりになります。９／２１に訪れましたが、今年はすでに初雪が降っており、登山道や紅葉の状態が心配だったので、情報収集に訪れました。センターの職員だけでなく、各方面に登ったお客さんも情報交換に訪れているので、最新の情報が手に入ります。雪が降ったあとだと、とくに登山道の状態は気になるもの。訪れて万全の準備をしてから登りましょう。

温泉街の散歩ついでに寄りました。掲示物を眺めていると、声をかけて下さり色々な質問に答えていただきました。この時期でも山には残雪も多く、日々変わる登山路状況を教えて頂き、とても頼りになると感激しました。是非、皆さんも利用してください。
