The waterfall is beautiful and during the raining season is very strong. Sadly the water was dirty and brown so I didn’t swim in it. I recommend the nature aspect and the peace you feel there.

We went to the falls twice in a day. Once in the morning and because the sun angle wasn't very good for photos we came back around 16:00. Coming back later in the day was worth it. The road is bumpy and dusty but worth the trip. The water was very refreshing! Recommend wearing beach shoes for the rocks. Unfortunately there was a lot of garbage around but that seems to be the case almost everywhere. In spite of that I recomend the trip.

What a wonderful hidden treasure.. rarely anyone there..Peaceful place to relax and take in the beauty of nature.. You can get a tour bus in town, although it's an easy drive there, but some bumpy dirt roads

I hiked out here with some friends and had a nice couple of hours relaxing and swimming. The waterfall is very scenic, and the swimming was really nice given the hot weather. I wouldn't recommend going near the end of dry season as there might not be a lot of water.

I had trouble finding an appropriate place to put this review so here it is. I was pulled over two separate times by the Nicaraguan police. The reason I realized later was that they were on the brink of Civil War In April of 3018 and trying to stomp out civil unrest. . The first time they cited me for having a beer between my legs. The second time they cited me for going too fast. What I found is that you need to hide almost all of your cash and act as though you only have $40-$60 usd total on you at any given time. You then tell them in Spanish or via a translating app on your phone that you want to be cooperative polite and solve this in the quickest manner possible. What I found helpful is to then continually insist on paying with your Credit card. Ultimately you’ll get an eye roll and they will except your low bid in cash and let you go on. In one of the instances the officer kept clicking the handcuffs at me in an attempt to try to get more money. Remember that if they were going to arrest you they don’t click the handcuffs they just cuff you.
For the beer the wanted $600 us and I gave them 150. For the speeding ticket they wanted 80 and the hot 40.

esta cascada es una de las mas famosas en esteli situada en la garnacha comarca del mismo departamento puedes nadar pero es muy fria en algunos tiempos

Per raggiungere l'entrata abbiamo preso un taxi da Estelì (300 c in tre, circa 9 USD) perché ci sono pochi bus che passano di lì (se non sbaglio uno in partenza alle 7.30 e uno alle 13 da Estelì). La passeggiata fino alla cascata dura 15 minuti adatta a tutti.
Il luogo è molto suggestivo e ottimo per passare una giornata di relax!
Attenzione ai vostri oggetti personali, mi hanno detto che ci sono stati ripetuti furti, quindi occhio!
Noi siamo stati a fine agosto ed era molto tranquillo, pochissime persone, la maggior parte turisti.
Per rientrare passa un bus dalla strada alle 16.30 circa ma meglio arrivare alle 16.10 in quanto gli orari sono sempre approssimativi e dipende da quante fermate deve fare prima di arrivare, il costo del bus è irrisorio, mi sembra 15 C a persona fino a Estelì.
Il luogo è molto suggestivo e ottimo per passare una giornata di relax!

El lugar ya es una reserva privada se paga 25 por persona para entrar. Caminas aproximadamente 800 metros luego bajas escaleras y llegas a la cascada. Frente a la entrada de la cascada hay una tienda de artesanias de marmolina

It's a good hike up or back with charming views. Getting down to the falls is a steep climb down, but opens into a small beach and pond just beneath the fall. Worth the pictures.And your time.
