Since the bus service for this year is already stopped, please use the taxi service or rental car to reach there. For the return taxi, ropeway ticket office will help you to call it anytime when you needed. The fare for single way is about 2,000 to 3,000 JPY.

As you go up the altitude, it's surely going to be cold, irrespective of the month. Make sure, you carry necessary things like sweatshirt and muffler. But it wouldn't be so cold, as it's during the snow.

You should be able to bring the collapsible walker. There is a bit of a walk to the awesome view but I think its manageable.

Sakura comes to full bloom in Hokkaido during the first two weeks of May. When driving towards Hakodate on Route 5 from Sapporo, you can reach the Oniushi Park (オニウシ公園) in Mori Town. This is one of the best places to view Cherry Blossoms in all Hokkaido. If you need somewhere close to Usuzan Fukidashi Park is a good option. About 50km from Uzusan. Address: 45 Kawanishi, Abuta-gun, Kyogoku-cho 044-0131 , Hokkaido Other than these places you have a chance to enjoy some cherry blossom in most places in the area. (Roadside).

Oops! I answered wrongly previously bcoz I mistook it for Shiretoko Pass (really love that place) For Usuzan Ropeway - it depends on the wind conditions. Same thing - call them to check before u go. When u are there - go to Lake Toya also,not far.

We visited Usuzan after lunch. Didn't complete the whole trail. But had enough time to walk around. Used car to travel from Toya.
