If you visit this temple dozens of times, the good and bad points of the temple will be burned into your memory. This is the head temple of Koyasan Shingon Buddhism, the "landlord" of all of Koyasan. Here, over 100 sub-temples, convenience stores, schools, souvenir shops, police... everything lives on Koyasan by paying rent and land rent. No matter how magnificent the building, the ground is "borrowed" from Kongobu-ji Temple. It's amazing, this vast religious space is the property of only one temple. Personally, I don't like this temple very much. First of all, I don't like the person who originally built it, and although he was once very useful to him, he suddenly changed his attitude and became shunned as soon as his eldest son was born, and in the end, there is a room where he was falsely accused and forced to commit seppuku. I can't like this temple. The garden is quite beautiful, but don't take pictures of the sliding door paintings! Don't sketch them either! There are many warning signs posted, but I don't feel like taking photos. The only thing that is a little strange is the water tank on the roof (see attached photo). The thatched roof has been hit by many fires, so when you pull a string, the water stored in the huge tank flows down. No matter when I visit, it is an unfriendly, otherworldly, authoritarian head temple. Of course, you can only worship inside if you pay a fee. But I cannot understand the nerve of imprisoning your nephew in a temple built for your mother and making him commit seppuku in his room.

is the headquarters of the Shingon Buddhism temples founded by Kobo Daishi about 1,200 years ago. There are various facilities within the temple, including the beautiful stone pavilion Banryutei and a room decorated with the luxurious Fusumae paintings decorated with calligraphy by famous painters. For an entrance fee of ¥1,000, you can tour the interior and drink free green tea.

Touring the temple fills you with peace. Walking through the exterior corridors you can see the Banryutei rock garden, the largest in Japan. The distribution of the rocks represents two dragons flying among the clouds (something that is difficult to see from the ground level, or at least it was difficult for me).
The fusuma doors of the room are decorated (painted) with cranes and flowers. Beautiful.

主殿、別殿、新別殿の内部拝観が可能。主殿は1862年再建で木造檜皮葺。屋根の大棟には防火用の水を溜める天水桶が設置されている。大広間などにある襖絵(撮影不可)、別殿から見られる石庭「蟠龍庭」は見事。また、太い柱と梁で高い天井を支えている台所も見所の一つと言える。

Absolutely loved the rock garden and the paintings in the sliding doors. This has become one of my favourite temples visited in Japan. It is large and a great one to explore as there is a lot to see. Highly recommend it.

Temple bouddhiste avec un beau jardin zen où l'on "voit" un combat de dragons (avec un peu d'imagination). L'intérieur est richement décoré (déchaussez-vous, pas de photos).

C’est un très beau temple qui est intéressant à visiter. Il est très bien entretenu.

関西空港から車では72kmくらいの距離です。1時間20分くらい。
電車では南海特急で天下茶屋まで行って、南海高野線急行で橋本まで行ってください。そこまで80分くらい。各駅停車に乗り換えて極楽橋まで50分。南海高野山ケーブルカー（3月リニューアル）で5分。そこからは徒歩かバスで周遊してください。加油！

You can get a goshuin but I am not sure about a wooden version. Did you mean an ema, those wooden plaques? I do not remember seeing those too.
