‪The found this by accent when driving from the marina near Fort Lenox (which is closed for several years now for renovations). The blockhouse is well preserved and the person working there was really nice. In front of the blockhouse we looked at the pictures and found an old train station looked pretty cool. So we drove around the village to find it))) Really cute little village!‬

‪Small, but great historical site‬

‪We stumbled onto the blockhaus after going to Fort Lenox, and we're glad we did. The guide gave us a tour of the blockhaus, inside and outside, telling us about the history of the site, the battles that have happened between American and Canadians at this location, even showing us the bullet holes on the walls outside and cannon balls that were found in the river, steps away from the blockhaus. There is a miniature model of the fort on the second floor that helps us understand the setup of this outpost in its original context.

Overal, we stayed about 45 minutes

This is a great complement to a visit to Fort Lenox, nearby.‬
