Ignore the negativity re tarpaulins- it’s a necessity to protect the ice grotto which is small but interesting. The main show is the walk up to the glacier and the pool basin which is amazing. Great for nature lovers, not for X box fans.

Following the Furkapass you pull in at the stop by the Belvedere Hotel. There is a gift shop & cafe. To enter the glacial field & walk down to the lake & into the glacial cave you have to pay 9CHF. There is a rubble path that goes down to the glacial lake with info points on the way. You get close to the glacial stones & views up the Rhone glacier. The ice/glacial cave is covered with tarpaulin to prevent melt, so doesn't look real. The tunnel through the glacier is short but you get to see all the colours in the glacier. Worth it ? Not sure !!

En el 2017 visitamos este mismo lugar. La cueva de hielo merecía mucho la pena visitar. Impresionaba enormemente el glaciar.
Este año, de nuevo lo visitamos... Y nos ha parecido un robo que te hagan pagar 9€ por entrar... La base del glaciar está separada de la cueva y tapada totalmente con lonas.
La cueva está separada del glaciar... Y da pena entrar en la cueva... No queda apenas nada, se está derritiendo...
Consideró seria mucho más bonito una pasarela hasta la base del glaciar... Y la cueva que que la destapen y la dejen derretirse naturalmente. Pierde enormemente el encanto del lugar actualmente

Paesaggio splendido, percorso adatto a tutti, ricco di pannelli che spiegano la storia del ghiacciaio. Entrare nella grotta di ghiaccio (attualmente sarà lunga 50 metri) e' veramente un esperienza da vivere.

Emozionante! Cartelli interessanti che spiegano bene la storia del ghiacciaio e la sua evoluzione. Percorso facile e adatto a tutti.

Thank goodness it was closed. My daughter found a way around the building and we had the whole Glacier to ourselves. Didn’t go into the tunnel as it may have been unsafe. I was happy to sit on a rock and take it all in while my baby girl explored.

Came here as we were driving the Furka pass. Paid to visit the glacier and went in the melting ice cave. I thought it was pretty cool to do although it is a tourist trap. Stars dropped for still charging for toilets even after paying entry. Charging for toilets is a scam we did not pay and managed to find free toilets elsewhere.

9.- d’entrée par personne pour se rendre compte que l’on contribue à aggraver une situation alarmante. Il faudrait mieux fermer de suite ce site et surtout la grotte qui ne représente rien si ce n’est un attrape nigauds touristiques! Il faut vite se réinventer et prendre soin de cette nature. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi l’Etat du Valais tolère encore une telle activité sans plus value, si ce n’est de faire entrée de l’argent dans les poches de cet établissement. Désolant

Se siete come noi di passaggio, merita una visita.
Dopo una breve passeggiata a piedi semplice, si arriva alla grotta scavata ne ghiacciaio.
Nel complesso la cosa è carina, anche se molto commerciale.
Cosa che invece non mi è assolutamente piaciuta e l'impossibilità di poter pagare il biglietto con metodi di pagamento elettronico: solo contanti, accettati gli euro, ma applicando un "cambio" non favorevole.
Se siete di passaggio o in zona merita comunque una fermata!

Klar sieht der Eingang aus wie auf einer Baustelle! Dies ist jedoch dem Vlies geschuldet, welches ein schnelleres schmelzen des Gletschers verhindert. Also zuerst sich informieren und Tafeln lesen vor einer ungerechtfertigten schlechten Bewertung!

Ciao, il ghiacciaio è aperto tutti gli anni da metà giugno a metà ottobre dalle 8:00 alle 18:00.

I never been to anywhere higher than 1000m altitude and I have asthma. Will I have mountain sickness if I visit Rhone?
I visited the Rhone Glacier in 1964 when we were told it was shrinking fast ,it was fantastic and free entry.
I did suffer with altitude sickness when we went higher but not in the Glacier.

depends the weather, usually Alpine passes are closed during the winter season but now is closed because of the bad weather (snow) in the last days

1-2 hours would be perfect to walk to and through the glacier tunnels - roughly 100 vertical feet down to the glacier so expect a small hike back up to the gift shop and car park

Ciao, il ghiacciaio dal Furka si raggiunge velocemente saranno circa 2 km se scendi al belvedere (strada sterrata e sentiero), poco di più per raggiungere la grotta. La visita non richiede molto tempo, il ghiacciaio è in fortissimo ritiro quindi non so neppure dire se ad oggi valga ancora la pena vedere la grotta... sta a voi.

¿se puede llegar al glaciar desde zurich en tren? sino es asi y solo se puede llegar en coche ¿sabeis de alguna excursion desde zurich?

Hola! En tren no vas a poder llegar hasta el glaciar. Desde Zurich seguro que vas a poder contratar algún tipo de tour por la zona. Entra en VELTRA y ahí hay más de una excursión
