Saw this bridge from up close at Pushkar Ghat. A lovely sight, the rail bridge is beautifully lit up in the evenings.

I don't like man-made views but this was special. The lights on either bank of Godavari and a straight line of lights joining the two banks.

good place to spend some time in rajahmundry. dont have any activites to do, but this place is quite calm and peaceful

There are three bridges constructed on Godavari near Rajahmundry
1. The Havelock Bridge:
THe Havelock bridge is also called as Old Godavari Bridge which served trains passing between Howrah and Chennai. It is the earliest of the three bridges that span the Godavari river at Rajahmundry. The construction of the bridge commissioned on 11th November 1897. It was named after Sir Arthur Elibank Havelock, the then Governor of Madras.
2. Road cum rail Bridge:
It is India's third longest road cum rail bridge crossing a waterbody, First one is on Brahmaputra river in Assam district and Second one is in Bihar. This Bridge is 4.1 km long which is constructed by South Central Railway Division of Indian Railway. It's construction began in the early 1970 and Inaugurated by the then president of India, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed on 16th August 1974.
3. Arch Bridge:
This bridge is constructed between Kovvuru and Rajamundry.. This Bridge was constructed to replace Havelock bridge. Its construction started in 1991 and lasted till 1997. its became fully operational for running trains from 2003. it is the latest of the three bridges that span the Godavari River at Rajahmundry. This is Iconic location of Rajahmundry City.

A wonderful place for a cool evening with the pleasant godavari and good decent parks for recreation and a touch of divine essence on the back end of the path way leading to temples.

Recently I again visited this place with my family. Some greenery is developed in this area than before. And so many temples like ayyapa swami temple and other small temples are built.
