‪Kolhapur is historical place. It also has a number of temples. The most famous temple is the Mahalaxmi temple. It is a huge temple with a lot of people and shops and restaurants. ‬

‪Out for a drive and stopped in Kolhapur. It was a great day and the market was well worth a visit. The roads were a bit better than the average road as well.‬

‪You can google for sight seeing places. But when it comes to food, you need to be choosy and smart. People post their views and you'll find many so called famous places here. Do trust only local people who have visited those hotels. Don't go by YouTube or any foodie blog‬

‪Me & my wife travelled to Kolhapur to visit Mahalaxmi Temple. We had engaged a Cab from Pavan Travels , owner Mr Pavan Muddebihal. phone no :9422423123. we travelled locally for two days, then to Phanderpur, Solapur & back to Kolhapur, covering about 700 kms. Taxi service was Excellent, Vehicle was in very good condition , two Drivers one Mr Riaz and another Santhosh
Driving & Behavior were simply exemplary, Riaz refuses to accept tips, finally I forced him to accept but returned 50% as tips given by me is high, Great to see such people are there even today, Pray their tribe prosper, Over all Taxi service provided by Pavn Muddebihal was Superb . Kudos to your Team.‬

‪Temple is a place to find inner self and this place will give you that the moment you enter, there are mainly 2 ways to have a darshan, first one is the closer you can get, which requires you to wait in long queue more often, secondly, a darshan which is far but satisfies your soul(if you are in hurry), adding to that the vicinity has many shops, inside as well as outside. There is a place to keep your shoes which takes donation for the service 🤘,has multiple ATMs and Restaurants outside, needless to say a must for everyone one coming to or passing by Kolhapur.‬

‪Situated on the bank of river Panchganga, Maharashtra, western state of India. Famous for ancient Mahalaxmi temple, Kumbhojgiri temples. It is also a historic city ruled by Bhosale chhatrapati of Maratha empire before independence.Origainally it was founded by Shilahara dynasty. Panhala fort nearby situated on Sahyadri range was the major trade route in olden time. It was built by King Bhoja 2 in the twelfth century. Kolhapur is also the biggest hub for Jaggery, a product of sugarcane. Kaneri math is a cultural museum depicting the rural life of India‬

‪Worst crowd management's ideal example is this temple.

No risk analysis done for 2hat ever crowd is climbing the temporary bridges.

Heritage structures should be out or bounds of crowd to touch but here 3xwctky opposite is followed and implemented.

Only 2 metal detector gates are installed actually manned by NOBODY and security has no takers from Management's side.

People were merrily climbing n going ahead with the line taking fu support from the temples anciently build walls.

In the already narrow roads, small aarti pooja selling shops were allowed to run congesting the already horrible passage to horrific dangerous lanes.

Inside the temple why camera pics are not allowed is out of my imaginations.
Why you want to tie the God with only your cash box collections ??

The Darshan makes you feel positive.
कुलस्वामिनी स्नैक्स at the exit door offers mouth watering wadaa, bhaji, poha with chutney,

At the back door exit lot of आंवला preparations are available for sale.

A must visit temple town sans 3v3n otro ary Management.‬
