A fantastic location, particularly when the flowers are in abundance. To avoid the crowds, go there early in the day. Here, one can unwind for three to four hours.

Kaas pathar is an unforgettable plateau. with its myriad flowers and lush greenery, its a fest for the eyes. The best time to visit, is end August through September, we were told, though it seems that there are some or other species of flowers in bloom throughout the year, except jn high summer. A short walk through gate 4 takes one to a lake, while a walk through Gate 3 takes you to the plateau and a view to the valley below. Take a wind-cheater and / or umbrella along, for the vagaries of the season mean there is sure to be a drizzle or light rain , specially in the monsoon months.each day

Did not find the bloom of flowers as the plateau is known for.
Satara residents don’t seem to understand the importance of the site which is listed in the UNESCO heritage list. We were stopped for an hour at Satara for the marathon run organised from Kas Pathar to Satara. Time slots for the visits are booked online and one cannot miss them because of stops like these. The marathon route should be changed to facilitate uninterrupted flow of traffic.

Best was the drive to this place if you love the ride. We enjoyed our ride, though not a great place but its beautiful.

We visited this place in the first week of Oct. The place is known for wildflowers of a different variety. Govt has spent a lot of resources in fencing and deployment of security to ensure that the flora is well preserved. This year due to heavy rains there flowers were less but nevertheless, the whole experience of visiting the place and watching whatever was left was still enjoyable.
One has to park the vehicle at designated parking and then take the bus arranged by the authorities to different gates. Once inside the gates, the visitors are left on their own to roam around. If facilities for guides with knowledge about flowers and plant is also arranged then the trip will not only be beautiful to the eyes but to the mind as well.

Very much pleasant climate. Forest Department working so hard and managing well, so that visitors can enjoy beauty of plateau.

Kaas plataue is full of flowers now. 29.09.2021.
Best time to vist.
Try to reach there early morning at 730 am.
For that prefer to stay in a hotel in Kaas or at best satara city.

Beautiful place... I am not sure what's the best month. But late September might offer more flowers than what we got. It's an amazingly beautiful place. If it rains, it makes it dreamy misty place. If it is clear skies, it makes it flowery green beautiful place.
We walked almost 5 kms without knowing we had walked so much.
Carry rain coats of your own. The rain coats on sale are available at valley as well and they charge nominal but then they work nominally 😝. Carrying umbrella is must.

I thought to have chosen the best season to visit the flower valley (kaas pather- as the locals call it) unfortunately torrential rainfall spoilt all the charm. Whatever glimpses we got when the clouds cleared was mesmerizing. Wish we could get more clear sky.
Visit to the kaas plateau was well organized, they charge nominally but that ensures security, law and order. We hope to visit next year too and hope the weather is appealing then, but one must keep 'kaas plateau' in their to go list. Plastic money doesn't work, so ensure to carry currency notes with you.

Kaas plateu , also known as Valley of flowers is situated 25 km from Satara city in Maharashtra. It has become part of UNESCO world heritage site in 2012 .
The entire grassland turns into valley of flowers during monsoon season, August to early October.
Distance from Mumbai/Pune
Kaas is located 25 km from Mahabaleshwar and around 30 km from Satara in Maharashtra. The distance between Pune and Kaas Plateau is 136 km and it can be reached in 2.5 to 3.5 hours via NH4. Its distance from Mumbai is 278 km and takes around 5 hours to reach by road via the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and then NH4.
The entire valley was covered with the sheet of greenery and different colorful varieties of flowers making the place looks totally amazing. Certain parts of plateau has been covered with barrier.Reason being ,the area has some special variety of flora which needs to be preserved
Best time to go: August to October. Check kaas website for further exact details of blooming
How to Reach-The plateau is just 22 km from Satara city and can be reached through a hired taxi or public buses - there are a few state buses that ply on the route from Satara to Kaas

How's the road conditions from Mahabaleshwar to Kass pleatue
I'm planning to visit Kass from Mahabaleshwar
I am planning to visit kas pathar in the last week of september. will i get to see flowers? or is it affected due to heavy rains? Also can you provide the datails of some 3 star resorts near to Kas Pathar

Pl check availability of visit slot on that day, 1 st oct is sunday. Yes it is worth a visit. I have visited just 4-5 days back.

Yes . It will be right time visit the place. Be sure that you do a online booking and take a morning time slot. As traffic will increase in the afternoon. If you are taking a car . First take a stroll and check how flower are and then come back to parking and go in a bus to visit the area.
