Nagaland Bamboo Research Centre is a very good institution to do research on bamboo. It is among the handful institutes where bamboo research is conducted.

Nagaland Bamboo Resource centre is new and is converted from a sugar mill. It is very unique and you will not come across such experience often. Definitely recommended to everyone.

Nagaland Bamboo Resource Center Complex, 6th Mile, Dimapur
What was once a sugar mill at 6th mile Dimapur, Nagaland. India, is now a 28.5 acres of land housing the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency that establish in 2005 the Nagaland Bamboo Resource Center Complex.
Visitors to the center will walk in the shade of many varieties of bamboo most of which are mature plants from all over India and other countries of the world including Japan, Taiwan and China. They will learn where the origins of the bamboo came from and their various uses. The Centre develops the plantation and regeneration of the bamboo as well as development of the bamboo based products. You can see the facilities, machinery and production of the bamboo products such as furniture that include beds, chairs, tables, rocking chairs, stools, bathtubs, and beds; household utensils such as steamers, baskets, musical instruments, cutting boards, plates, cups, water containers, paper products, forks and spoons; and building materials such as scaffoldings, mats, bridges, doors, roofs, walls, floors, and blinds. We were surprise that weapons are made from bamboo.
Apart from the facilities of production there is a Bamboo Archive (Museum) and a Bamboo Emporium which you can purchase various bamboo products.
Near the entrance you can chill out and have delicious meals at the restaurants that is rightly named The Bambusa Restaurant.
