So far the best picnic spot in Rourkela. A place with clean air, green lush surroundings and the calm and serene River Brahmani. Looks like a biosphere has been created naturally. Must visit if in Rourkela.

Well I wish I wasn’t on a business trip or else I would have surely done camping.I could see some people cooking their own food and enjoying drinks.If you get time you should plan a camping for sure.

VERY CLOSE TO NATIONAL HIGHWAY NO 23, River BRAHAMANI flows through hills and jungle, wonderful place for whole day amusement. carry foods along with you or even you can cook over there but all raw food stuff and uttencils to be carried with,

Darjeeng, the little known place that is easily confused with the world famous Darjeeling because of the similar name lies hidden in nature about 50 kilometers from the industrial city of Rourkela. Come December and Darjeeng wakes up from its hibernation to welcome hordes of picnickers to its fold.
The picnic parties set up their place on the banks of the Brahmani river, which looks wild and beutiful strewn with rocks. The water of the river occupies a small part of the bed at this time of the year. But the blue waters come alive in the December sun. The team of ducks on the river water make the place more scenic.
Be warned the boisterous picnickers can be annoying because of their high decibel music and high-spirited behavior. Most of the picnic parties leave the place littered with plasics and left-overs after their party is over.
There is a Shiv temple nearby, perched on a high plinth. Deodarha reserve forest, two kilometers towards Rourkela, is a much more scenic place with a more gorgeous Brahmani and surrounding hills. But public is not allowed to this place without permission from forest department.

Beautiful parkgood and modern type park.Darjeeng is situated on the Bank of River Bramhini.so that you can visit the bank side too if you want.great to see.

As Rourkela is surrounded by hills and forests it has many beautiful and scenic picnic spots, this place is not to be confused with Darjeeling , otherwise calm and peaceful this place is very active and crowded in winters as people enjoy picnics here.
