Kēdārnāth Mandir (Kedarnath Temple) is a Hindu temple (shrine) dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river, Kedarnath is located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open to the general public only between the months of April (Akshaya Tritriya) and November (Kartik Purnima, the autumn full moon). During the winters, the vigrahas (deities) from Kedarnath temple are carried down to Ukhimath and where the deity is worshiped for the next six months. Kedarnath is seen as a homogenous form of Lord Shiva, the 'Lord of Kedar Khand', the historical name of the region.[1]

One of the Chhota Char Dham places is Kedarnath. It's very nice and unique pilgrimage place I had ever visited. Reaching the Kedarnath temple is itself a unique experience. Everybody must at least have a blessing of Shri Kedarnathji once in a life time. The place is very beautiful. It is surrounded by huge ice mountains. The surroundings of the temple is recently renovated after the calamity of 2013. But the temple is believed to be very very very very old times. It is believed that this temple is built by Pandavas.

The abode of baba kedarnath is a simple beautiful temple with the backdrop of majestic snowcapped mountains which by itself is an unforgettable sight. The trek to the temple after 2013 floods from gourikund has become extended from 14 to 18 km and is not for the faint hearted. But the result in the form of the sight of the temple and the backdrop makes the arduous journey worth it. Temple has its own issues with the multiple priests trying to peddle a quick darshan with varying amounts that they will negotiate . Inside the temple also the hustling continues for a puja. There are official counters for darshan and puja for 2k, 5k etc. Choose as per your time and convenience. Must visit in the lifetime for the scenic beauty and the grace of baba kedarnath.

Absolute Peace and comfort one can feel after such a long trek to reach here. Be ready to completely mesmerized by the beauty of the nature and the satisfaction of reaching here in this spiritual and breathtaking nature's abode. Take your time and sit somewhere for a while to feel all your worries go away and find some solace inside you. Do get to know the legend about the temple and try to go to temple earliest in the morning to get the best time for the darshan. Do keep some rain protecting cloths as weather can change anytime. Its the best spiritual place I have ever been

After the 2013, Government has restored the campus of Kedarnath ji with ample space. The Road till the temple from Gauri Kund has also been completely re done with enough width. The quality of infrastructure is very good despite of its latitude.

Bhole baba is the one who never ever turns down anyone who prays to him sincerely from his heart. Whether it was Ravana or it was SriRam he blessed both of them as both were his Bhakt.
Then what about us, He is surely there for us. Call him from your heart and there he is in form. He literally carries us and gives us his darshan. Its not we who go there, its really his mercy that we can go there.

Nothing forget in your life if you go Shree Kedarnath. A beautiful temple built with ancient architecture. Feel proud to see Himalaya just back of temple.

I have been in May. But it is right time to go there in September October.
But just confirm when the kapat closes.Its around Bhaidooj.This yearits in October.

How much time one has to wait at Kedarnath temple for darshan? I am visiting Kedarnath on 13th of June 2019.

Depends. Staying overnight at kedarnath and making a visit next day, will be fine and puja can be done withinb30/45mins.
For same-day dardhan only, if reach within FN, tokens are issued . You have to wait for your turn.
After 5pm,darshan, no tokens. May be also 1hr maximum.
Don't worry, will have a darshan anyway.

Bathe before you visit the temple. It's too cold there. We didn't Book room at Kedarnath. We went by helicopter and came back by afternoon.
