My husband and I had such an amazing time at Tresna Bali cooking class. Both Frances and Adi were very warm and friendly, and they made sure that everyone is having a great time. We were amazed by how professional the team was with having the entire session flow so smoothly. They have their own garden where they get some of the produce from, and they also have cabins you can book in advance to stay the night in.
All the food were absolutely delicious, and I appreciate that we can choose the spice level for the dishes as people have different spice tolerance.
We had such a fun time laughing and learning, and can definitely say that it was one of the highlights of our trip!
I highly highly recommend everyone to try their cooking class out if visiting Bali <3

The vegan class remains one of the most memorable experiences of my trip. An immersion orchestrated with the perfect balance of culture, food and hands-on practice in an equally beautiful garden setting and kitchen space. I can’t wait to make return with friends.

What an awesome experience with Frances, Adi, and their team! My mom and I were so pleased to find an option for a vegan cooking class and our time at Tresna exceeded our expectations. The grounds are gorgeous, Adi and Frances are lovely and hilarious people and so cute and personable. The food was delicious and we made such a gorgeous array of different Balinese dishes! We will definitely be back and 100% recommend Tresna to all of our friends while they’re visiting Bali.

Absolutely fantastic experience and worth the price. After looking at a few cooking options in Ubud I came across Tresna Cooking school. The experience was phenomenal, quality of ingredients, care by the owners to provide the highest quality experience. Expensive, but worth every cent. A must do if you enjoy cooking and are in Ubud.

My husband and I love asian and eastern cooking, so we sought out a cooking school near Ubud to attend after we'd been on a yoga retreat. I have been to other cooking schools around the world - but our time at Tresna was absolutely outstanding for its quality and unforgettable. We actually had a private class - with Adi and Frances welcoming us warmly. Every aspect was brilliantly thought-out - from the menu (we made 8 vegan dishes) and their lovely staff seamlessly assisted by cleaning up and preparing / weighing spices, so that we could concentrate on the delights of making the food. It was very hands-on and we learned lots of techniques and about traditional Balinese cuisine. A real highlight was a tour of the lush garden where everything from coconuts, spices, fruits and vegetables are grown. The Tresna kitchen is beautiful and new, spacious and also a very welcome cool temperature. Once we had made the dishes, we sat to eat with Frances and Adi. It was fantastic to learn about their journey in creating Tresna - and, as though they are not busy enough, how they are Priest and Priestess of the local temple. We had such a brilliant day and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a really special and high-quality experience.

I love to take interesting cooking classes when traveling. I must have called 30 different ones before settling on Tresna.
This was a highlight of our trip to Bali. Adi and Frances are both wonderful people. Being active in their local temple added great insights into traditional Bali village life.
They have a large organic garden on their property. The start of the class was roaming through the garden learning about local herbs, fruit, and produce. All the while tasting them as well. After harvesting for the class, we went back to the kitchen. And what a kitchen it is. They have an amazing staff who did much of the initial prep (as we were making about 12 different dishes which required advance planning). Then tasks were passed out and away we went. Throughout the cooking, we were tasting sauces and dishes as they were being created. After all was said and done, we sat down for a traditional Balinese feast. Absolutely delicious food, all from scratch.
Our group loved the whole experience. We can't recommend this high enough. This is a NOT TO BE MISSED EXPERIENCE.

We absolutely loved our cooking class at Tresna. What Adi and Frances have built here is a very special business. Spending time in the organic garden with Adi showed us the passion and love he has for the land, as well as providing us with beautiful ingredients. The school is well staffed, so you can move between courses and preparation areas easily, and no time is wasted. We learned a lot, ate a lot, and really enjoyed the company of Adi and Frances. We highly recommend Tresna Cooking School.

5 stars not nearly enough....a must do on a trip to Bali, and one of our highlights of the whole trip. Amazing authenitc experience with the best hosts and support team. Learn to cook and eat a Balinese feast from scratch, with many ingredients harvetsed from the garden. It is 100% worth the money and we can't wait to have a try at recreating the dishes now we are home.

Adi, Frances, and their team created an incredible production and unforgettable culinary experience. Many reviews have already highlighted the amazing food, and it's true. It's incredible. I would like to focus more on the team and the incredible amount of work that this experience must take to create such a seamless, fun, and interactive class.
The moment I walked in, someone addressed me by my name - I was running late, so it was obvious who I was but nonetheless. It instantly created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that showed the staff's attention to detail and high level of service.
The cooking studio itself is beautiful. It's elegant, simple, and perfectly designed to entertain small groups. Adi and Frances are delightful—full of funny little quips, stories, and some pranks. I won't give them away, but it made for a really fun and engaging day.
We tasted our creations throughout the day. Plates never sat empty or dirty for more than 2 minutes. The staff was continually cleaning our stations and serving more tasters if desired. We worked on multiple dishes at a time, but it didn't seem or feel like it. Everything worked like clockwork. When we finished chopping things and moved over to the cooking area our stations were cleared and prepped for the next presentation. The amount of work, planning, and coordination that it took to pull off such a seamless 5-hour day is nothing short of amazing. There was no lag between activities, and everything seamlessly transitioned from one presentation to the next.
Adi and Frances were high-end wedding coordinators prior to starting the cooking school, and it shows. Their attention to detail was incredible to watch, understand, and experience. The whole day was choreographed perfectly...I use the term 'choreographed' because it accurately describes the level of coordination and precision involved....it was a production.
They are perfectionists. They not only taught us about Balinese culture through cooking but also continually taught people how to choose the best product, how to chop properly, about presentation, and technique. I love cooking and am particular about all of these things, so it was such a pleasure to participate in a class with such high standards that was also light and fun.
The Tresnea team is nothing short of incredible. They are true professionals and incredibly talented. It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with them. The experience was phenomenal, and the food was unforgettable. They put a lot of work and heart into creating the experience and you can feel it.

If it was possible to rate this six stars I would. Incredible experience in an incredible location. Not only do you learn to cook mouthwatering traditional Balinese dishes from scratch, but you will learn about Balinese culture and how it is unique from the rest of Indonesia.
Not only will you learn the recipes and process to make the dishes, but the class will teach you how coconut milk is made from scratch and how all the herbs and spices are harvested, which is truly unique to this class.
Frances and Adi were incredible hosts and their passion and dedication to what they do, made the experience unforgettable.
The fact that the class is in such small groups, (we were lucky enough to have a private class) makes the experience more personable and enjoyable.
I can't recommend this experience enough, if you are looking for a cooking class in Bali, COME HERE!

Hello Marketa,
Please email me with your dates on the link on our website. We pick our own vegetables from our massive organic gardens. The market is for tourists only after 7 am as all produce is only sold from 4-7 am. We have custom built cooking school that is both indoors and fully air-conditioned as well as traditional outdoor cooking. We are the only cooking school of this quality here.
