Went on 3 hour eco tour of Grenada with Ralph Alexander of St James Travel and Tours in Grenada and excellent. Knowlegable and friendly guide willing to share his love of the island with us.

Tried to book and excursion with this outfit for my end of Jan./beginning of Feb. 2012 via email. The owner kindly wrote back and said that they were no longer in operation. I hope things turn around for them and they are back up and running. The reviews were so good and it sounded like fun.

We went on a morning tour with Kim and the team. We were welcomed by friendly faces, and set of to explore the bay. We were taken to Hogg Island, an idyllic spot to sip on rum punch. The kayaking wasn't too hard going, especially when i got towed on the way home ;)
Kim was really chatty and friendly and gave us loads of idea for other trips. It was good to see some small attractions - the groves and some ship wrecks.
All in all i would highly recommend this trip.

We had a fantastic morning with Spice Kayaking! The paddle out to Hog Island was just the right length and hanging out on the beach with some rum punch and excellent company was a brilliant way to start our holiday. The hosts were fantastic and the equipment was very well maintained/clean (I always hate wearing mildewy life jackets and these were nice).

We were 5 of us off of the first cruise ship of the season. We booked our trip based on the Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed.
Kim met us at the ship and we loaded into our transport for the 15 minute drive to the marina. Along the way she told us some of the history of Grenada. We had varying degrees of kayaking experience in our group but nobody was hard pressed to keep up on our paddle to Hog Island. We stopped for a brief history lesson at the sunken Cuban vessels and were surprised at the number of Canadian yachts anchored in the bay.
We tried snorkeling from the dinghy but the water was too murky. Alternatively we were able to spend a good deal of time lazily swimming off of the beach in between sandwiches and glasses of Kim's special rum punch (I need that recipe!).
There is a makeshift bandstand on the island and we were told it is a very popular place with the locals and "yachties" for parties. Not sure what they use for bathroom facilities as there are none on the island.
Our paddle back to the marina from our virtually private island was a little more challenging as the wind had picked up a bit but Kim chose a route to minimize our exertions.
On our way back to town, Keith our driver took the scenic route and gave us a mini tour of the area which included fantastic vistas of the coast.
Thanks Joe for the tip on what to do if I should meet a Great White. Of course there aren't any in the local waters but it was just one of the many interesting conversations we had.

We went for the half day kayaking Tour that includes a trip to one of the few uninhabited islands right next to the main island. The sights were very nice and our guides very friendly. We made a stop in the island for some rum punch, sandwiches and some swimming. It was clearly one of the best experiences we had in Grenada. Our only regret is that we didn't go for the full day tour that also includes snorkeling in the reefs and a barbeque!
Do yourself a favor and go do some kayaking when in Grenada!

Down in the south of the island near most of the other island's attactions and just a short hop from the main town St George, a day or half day spent on a kayak eco-tour is a lovely way of getting closer to nature and and getting away from it all. Kim, Joe and their team are very welcoming, friendly and informative and it is hard not to warm to them. We did the half day over to the deserted Hog Island with a picnic on the beach and it was simply wonderful. It was out of season so it was a small group which was lots of fun. A friend in the UK had recommended this tour and we owe them a big thank you. I just wish we'd done the all day one, and my partner was very interested in the kayak fishing option too, but we ran out of time on the island. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

I love kayaking and always try to work an excursion or two into my vacations. I was lucky enough that Kim was able to fit me in during the busy cruise ship season. I went out for the day and absolutely loved it!! the owners are hands on, very friendly, knowledgeable and do everything they can to make sure you have a great day! the snorkelling in the bay off Hog Island was excellent! Food excellent! Company excellent!! I will be calling them for another trip when I am back in Grenada. Highly recommend the trip. It's easy paddling so don't be intimidated. JUST GO!

We had decided we were going to try kayaking while on vacation - but ended up waiting until the last few days to give it a try. We were fortunate that Kim and Joe were able to work us into their shedule - thanks!
Having never kayaked before we decided to test the waters with Spice Kayaking. The business has new owners, Kim and Joe and they truly worked to make our experience special. We Kayaked to Hog Island where we had a picnic lunch and an opportunity to check out the island and learn more about Grenada. This would be ideal for families and groups, as well as couples. Kim and Joe make the whole experience fun and easy, next time we will definitely do the full day trip - maybe even the fishing trip!
We never felt rushed or outside of our comfort zone - which was important as novices. The whole pace is relaxed and we came away having had great fun.
Kim & Joe - if you read this - thank you so much - you really helped end our trip on a high note! Kim - a few names for you the next time you visit the wine store - Grey Monk, Dirty Laundry, Blasted Church, Summerhill. Maybe you will just come and check them out in person!

Our family took a full day kayaking tour around Hog Island, a beautiful unspoiled Grenadian island. We were able to view and enjoy lovely coves and beaches, all to ourselves. Kim and Joe, the owners, are great guides and made us a delicious BBQ lunch (and a potent rum punch!). We went snorkeling on an amazing reef. All in all a magical day!!
