‪Surfing with Turtles!‬

‪My family and I had an excellent experience with Bodie’s School of Surf! We were all able to get up on the board and Bodie and Christine were very encouraging. Surfing with the turtles was an added bonus.‬

‪Awesome Surfing Lessons for Beginners to Intermediates‬

‪Bodie was a great guy and made everything easy for our crew of 4 girls. One had never surfed before and was up within a few minutes. We will definitely be back!‬

‪Bodie’s THE best!‬

‪Our family just got back from a fabulous vacation in Barbados and a HUGE part of the fun was surfing. My girls (8 and 12) and I took four lessons and we had a ball with Bodie (and Christine our fellow Canadian gal). Bodie was responsive, kind, funny and truly made our experience special. We left wanting more time in the surf….we are already trying to figure out when we can get back. We caught wave after wave and could definitely see/feel our progress. It was also super cool that Bodie would send us videos after each lesson so we could see what we needed to work on and what we were doing right. We felt like we lucked out finding such a fabulous surf instructor, who truly felt like a friend by the end of our trip. Hope to see you next year Bodie!!!🤗🏝️🏄‍♀️‬

‪We love Bodie! Our second time surfing with him and we can’t wait to get back to Barbados to surf with him again. Highly recommend. He’s great with all ages and skill level. Bonus was surfing with the sea turtles.‬

‪Best part of our vacation‬

‪I'm not sure why I chose Bodie's from all of the options on the island but I am so glad I did. My husband and I agree it was the best part of our vacation. After our first session, we immediately signed up for a second day.
Freights Bay was full of turtles, the waves were a great size for a beginner, and the instructors were encouraging, kind, and talented.
Bodie and Kristin fixed my bad habits and explained overlooked details in simple terms. Next time we come, we're bringing our kiddo!‬

‪Amazing surf coach with huge enthusiasm!‬

‪Our two girls aged 7 and 10 had an awesome time improving their surf skills at Freights with Bodie and his colleagues during our two-week stay. Bodie’s enthusiasm is infectious - he is so positive and encouraging, the kids just couldn’t stop smiling! We had originally agreed to do 3 lessons, but they had so much fun that we managed to squeeze in an extra one before we left.

Bodie started with the basics, then pushed them into some green waves so they improved their pop, learning all the time with GoPro footage that was sent to us after the lesson. He constantly gave them useful tips both on land and out on the water, so they were learning all the time, and their confidence grew with each session. By the end of our stay they had switched to smaller boards and were paddling themselves into waves and riding down the line. Bodie was flexible as to lesson timings, and made sure that he only took the kids out when the conditions were right - and safe - which was reassuring. He gave them heaps of independence in terms of paddling out and tackling the whitewater, but was always vigilant and went straight to help them if needed.

All in all… we would totally recommend Bodie’s School of Surf! If you’re going to get lessons, go with these guys.‬

‪Fun and Function!!!!‬

‪Perfect combination of fun and function! This was one of my favourite activities I have done in Barbados (and I’ve done everything lol). Bodie is cool and funny and provided instruction to be able to actually feel like I was surfing. The location was perfect! I had the biggest smile for the whole day. The videos provided via GoPro on the board was a bonus. I will definitely be back. Thank you Bodie!!!‬

‪Best surfing instruction in a dream surfing location‬

‪Bodie's School of Surf came to our attention with three independent sources of rave reviews. My airbnb host, a bar tender, and an expat friend all cited Bodie as "THE PERSON to learn surfing from" on the island. Sure enough, my boyfriend and I had an AMAZING experience with them!!!

Bodie and Christine are truly passionate surf instructors who take pride in students' success and making classes safe and fun. In our first classes with them, I was pleasantly surprised to see that all students (~5 kids and ~5 adults) including first-time surfers stood up on boards. Such success came from their dedication to explain techniques and tirelessly providing feedback after our every attempt. In addition, they offered tons of advise for paddling out to the waves and how to stay safe. Their teaching truly stand out among all my previous surf lessons (in Hawaii and Costa Rica). Not to mention that Freights is just a gorgeous place to surf with turtles swimming around surf boards all the time:)‬
