Good advice and help with parking and kayak launching from Ali. Scenic paddling up river with glimpse of seals and many birds.

Power Boat Level 2 - A great course and great fun. Thoroughly recommend Martyn - extremely patient and encouraging - as a total novice I gained confidence over the two days course with plenty of time to practice the maneuvers in a range of locations and conditions. Theory was explained clearly and simply with practical examples given on the water. Would do it all again tomorrow! Just need a boat now!! Thank you Martyn

Excellent 2 day course at Loe Watersports.
My 16year old recently purchased a small motor boat with his friend. To ensure they would be safer on the water we were recommended Loe Beach Watersports centre to attend the Level 2 Powerboat Course. The course was run by Martyn Bawden, who provided an informative and enjoyable experience. Most of the course was practical and spent on the water but also covered a good amount of theory.
I would recommend this course if you are thinking of spending time in a power boat because it has taught us some really useful skills that we would not have gained otherwise.

My partner and I completed the level 2 RYA Powerboat course with Martyn last week. We had some powerboat experience and were unsure if we needed to do the course, but after two enjoyable and informative days with Martyn we are so pleased we did - We both learned loads of new skills and feel more confident and safe out on the water.
We cant rate Martyn highly enough as an instructor. Approachable, friendly and hugely experienced in all aspects of powerboating.
Thanks very much and look forward to seeing you on the water in the summer!

Amazingly professional with a very warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and everything has been well thought through.
Our only regret was not having a whole day out on the water to explore the area has on offer via kayak!

Loe Beach is perfectly situated in Feock, a quiet part of the Carrick Roads. Martyn is an excellent and patient teacher who carefully explains the manouvres at sea and the theory on land. I have no hesitation in recommending this course.

Just finished my powerboating 2 course with Martyn, what a fantastic course. Loved every minute of it. Martin is a brilliant teacher. My three children have done many sailing and SUP courses with him. He is very knowledgeable and patient. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to get out in the water.

I’ve just completed my 2 day power boating course with Martin & loved it. Despite getting drenched on day 1 today was a far better day weather wise. Martin is patient and very very knowledgeable. I’ve just purchased a boat so he was giving me tips along the way too. I’m so pleased I did this course in preparation for next summer. Martin is a top bloke so if you need to do this course and want a knowledgeable friendly instructor Martin is definitely your man.

Although I’ve been boating for several decades on and off, I’d never taken any instruction on how to do it properly. My son (20) and I did the level 2 powerboat course and learnt so much - especially the tight manoeuvres of berthing in different situations, holding position in windy conditions and what to do with a man overboard. There’s a marked difference in the confidence that I feel before and after doing this course. And I feel confident letting my son go out without me too. Martyn was an excellent instructor - calm, clear, concise. He really knows his stuff. However long you’ve been motor boating, if you haven’t done this course, I highly recommend it.

Do you charge to launch a kayak?

No there is no charge however the guys who own & run the car park do now charge £3 for all day parking.

Thanks for your message.
Yes totally fine to launch inflatables / the beach does have soft gravel at the bottom of the slip way so be prepared for it to be a little harder at mid to low tide.
