we are visited the baghamunda nature camp for three days on date 23/12/2022 to 25/12/2022 no's of booing persons 14 but we re there 12 persons.
requested all the visitor to never go there its worst food they are serving they or forester are taking booing on higher amount but quality of food is worst no one is taking ownership like no managers .in my career i never visited such a place .
its the horrible situation we are facing in two days with out food but we paid all .

Environment was really excellent. This sanctuary was very famous and situated near Tikarpada village. Famous for boating.

It's a beautiful place in Odisha state and near by place of Angul. 75km from Talcher and 60km from Angul. Road is good, you have to go through village road with so many village junctions called "Cheka". There is a single road goes through the dense forest to Tikarpada . Awesome road trip and we have been to the place in our Car in the afternoon. It was a family trip and we enjoyed like anything. If you want to relax and need fresh air then visit to Tikarpada once.its near Mahanadi river and awesome view of sunset and river flows in between the mountains. It's a superb view(pls see pics). You can stay there for a day to roam around to the nearby places and you may see wild animals during your journey.

About 50 km from Angul the place where I stay. Nice drive to kikarpada. Vehicle stops near forest office. One can walk leisurely upto crocodile sanctuary which is on hillock with old trees. Beautiful scenic view of Mahanadi river and gorge. One can visit crocodile sanctuary with various sizes and age of crocodiles both ghariyals sword faced crocodiles. There is boating facility of forest department which is very nice but one should not touch water of river as it is crocodile infested. One should not take bath in the river. Nice picnic area with a kiosk providing food including fresh fresh water fish and chicken. Nice visit for a day. One can stay at nature camp also.

I had high hopes for this place but it was pathetic. The tents were dirty, the waste bin was not cleaned for several days with rotting banana skins inside. The tents are in the middle of a village. In the morning the local temple starts blaring bhajans destroying the peace. The villagers beg for tips. The boat trip was utter rubbish. I saw two ducks. Not possible to see sunrise from the sandbar. Villagers openly defaecate by riverside in the morning, not really a photogenic scene despite the stunning Mahanadi and the reflecting mountains. Far cry from the description in Mr and Mrs Iyer. Don't bother staying.

We paid around 10500 for the 3 tents we booked there, but upon reaching we found that they don't have enough tents available. We had to adjust in 2 tents and people had to sleep on floor after paying around 3300 for a tent.This was very unprofessional from the management. They should have accepted the bookings as per the availability of the tents.

The FRH at Chotkei and Tarva have untrained service providers. The forest officials have too much indulgence. For example If you order double omlette for two persons, two omlettes are made from one egg diluted with too much besan. If you order country chicken, you are charged extra and exorbitantly. They charge Rs.400/- per chicken and buy 2 chicken from the village. Then they serve you with few pieces and the rest goes to the forest staff and others. The non veg items served in breakfast, lunch and dinner is highly adulterated.

Satkosia as a place is excellent for people who loves nature, want to do photography, enjoy jungle. Here I would like to review about accommodation of Satkosia - Tikarpara Nature’s camp only.
Booking:
It is part of Odisha forest department. Camp/Hotel booked through Internet. Booking is hassle free. Booking includes Lodging, Food (All meals), Entry cost to jungle and obviously the taxes. We 4 people booked 2 tents for 2 days on 26th March 2017.
Reaching there:
We decided to drive from Kolkata. We drove via NH 5 till near Cuttack. Then followed google map suggested route. I must say we enjoyed the Roads in Odisha. They are real good. Some parts of roads and scenery reminds me about driving in Europe and USA. Total 11 hours driving from Kolkata (including breaks). This road is neither NH or SH. This is the road google map suggested us to drive. We found this road is faster than NH 55 (Sambalpur-Cuttack Highway) because very less traffic.
Hotel Review:
Here our experience is not good. This camp is actually driven by local people from an adjacent village. They are courtesious, friendly. But they are not professional to drive a hotel which charge INR 2500/day, neither they have any such experience.
Location: In one side local Village. Other side River Mahanadi (6 to 8 mtr below Camp level. You have to be fit to scroll down to river bank.). The adjacent river bank the is jetty for local people to go to nearby places by country boat routes. So you can expect the bank is full of people throughout the day.
About 6 / 7 years back this camp was inside jungle. Govt website still shows that old picture. But present location is totally different.
1st experience: Food was included as part of our packages. So we decided to call manager to confirm food. 1st surprise was the manager had requested to purchase some vegetables. Once we reached the camp we understand that Manager is not from the adjacent village so he simply pass his task on us and decided to not to come to the hotel/camp. Actually we did not saw him till we leave the hotel/camp.
2nd experience: Since there is no manager the hotel support team allowed us to stay in camp without asking for any document and without signing the register. Even they did not checked our reservation documents. Probably our "passport" is the vegetables we are carrying to prepare the Lunch :).
3rd experience: we reached around 12PM. But Our camp was not ready to stay till 4PM. Because they do not have enough bed covers to change immediately. They washed the bed covers after the previous guest left in the morning, dried then prepared the bed for us.
4th experience: These tents are not an option to stay during March summer. The tents became heat chamber during whole afternoon. On our request the hotel staffs took out the beds under a nearby tree. So that we could survive. Further The tents are not in good condition. Some zip of doors are not working. anybody can enter in our tent while we are sleeping. There is no proper boundary wall around the camp, only some fencing at one side. We are carrying Cameras costing 100 thousands of rupees. Our only hope is that rural people of India are not thugs. They will fight with you but they will not cheat you.
5th experience: The Swiss tent base - Some of the Swiss tent have raised cemented/concrete base. But they one we stayed are on plain ground. Looks like they are arranged to handle rush of people. Please expect different kind of insects/Red ants inside the tent.
6th experience: Toilet is about 10 meters away from camp. Toilet floor is cemented however wall is made of straw. I went to toilet and understood sombody is trying to take out the straw of wall. Came out furiously from toilet only to find out that a Cow had found the toilet wall very testy and having her lunch with the straw. (My friends started laughing at me saying that "Ek Gai ne mera ijjat loot liya ;)" i.e. one Cow had taken my dignity. ).
Toilet have both Indian and western style cistern side by side. Water is plenty since adjacent river water is used.
7th Experience: Power - There is power scarcity. They have generator. But Generator is switched on only during evening / special request.
8th experience: Food - The team had experience preparing of Odia/north indian style of food only. Odisha is known for preparing tasty food (apart from temples, Odissi Dance). However food taste is not that great. Just Ok kind.
We tried as follows, Day 1 Lunch: Veg curry+rice, Evening Snacks: Chicken pakora. Dinner: Chicken curry + Roti.
Day 2: Breakfast: Poori Sabji / Upma, Lunch: Fish curry+Rice.
Finally: Mobile network - No mobile network at the camp. However if you walk about 400 meter inside adjacent village you will get Airtel network. (we were carrying Vodafone, Airtel, BSNL and Jio sim, only Airtel worked).
We booked for 2 days. But we decided to cut short our stay to one day due to extreme hot weather. Because we were dehydrating due to excessive sweating. We now forgot how many bottles of water we had drunk there.
So this place is not suited during summer. Female member may find the washroom/toilet is big resistant to stay.

Tarava nature camp.
It is one of eco tourism nature camps in the tikarapada north eco tourism camps. Situated at 45 kms from anugul and 170 kms from Bhubaneswar. Best way to access the place is to take a train journey to anugul station and hire a local taxi or auto to the place or you can take ur own vehicle to the camp.
This camp was good but not the best. Night halt will be in a tent and the condition of the tents and bathroom are all good but the hospitality of this particular camp needs improvement. Better to stay at tikarapada nature which is very close to the river mahanadi and the hospitality of that camp is far better. The selction of the camp place is also not that good as expected. Had it been near to the close proximity to the jungle then it would have been far better.
After all the it is one of the finest experience you will get when you will spend few hours inside the jungle. The bank's of river is around 16 k.ms from tarava nature camp. At tikarapada which is in bank's of river mahanadi you can have boat ride which is operated by forest department, government of odisha or you can hire local boats which is beat cheap in terms of price. You can spot crocodiles inside the river also there is a small zoo specially made for crocodiles. If you are fortunate enough you can spot few animals from jungle as this is the buffer area of satakosia jungle..

I am planning to go to Satakosia with my friends. Can you please let me know from your experience that can we go there in the morning and comeback in the evening? Or we have to book a room there?
If we can, then what is the procedure for that please?
Is the motorcycle are allowed inside in tikarpada..???

yes of course.
but you have to take permission from the entry gate. and have to pay another ticket for vehicle.
