Part of the reason to go here is the outback dusty drive, opening and closing gates, and soaking in the mulga and coolabahs on the way. It really does feel like an adventure, although your average 2WD sedan will get you there O.K. The inexpensive tour also feels like an adventure - no professional tour guides here - just a genuine outback character telling it like it was and is.
The downside of this bush tales approach is that it does go on a bit. Some in our group, particularly children, needed to move on.

Great underground experience, but not for the feeble or those afraid of low spaces as you are not walking on pavement or fixed steps. You do need to be sensible and follow directions and duck quite a bit.

What a spot and what a tour! Our tour guide Angus was quick of wit and knowledgeable. The history was well told and both above and underground information were excellent. Do not miss this one.

The mine itself is great. I've been on a few mins tours before, but this mine is different. Dug in the 1880s, its older than most other mines you can visit. The access is quite tight, I like that it hasn't been sanitised for tourists. The surface tour was really interesting as well. I enjoyed the drive off the main road - it's quite she experience
Unfortunately I missed most of the underground commentary as I was at the back and couldn't hear. A PA system, or smaller groups might address this. Also make sure you arrive half an hour early as specified. Normally I find I end up twiddling my thumbs when a place says to get there so early, but in this case I was 15 minutes early and they'd started without me

What a great tour this was. So much information and the experience of navigating the tunnel was fun - some parts were quite low. Get there early so you can indulge in some homemade scones & tea before your tour.

A wonderful insight into silver mining. Very informative guide and interesting underground tour. Such awful conditions these boys and men worked in.
Make sure you have the tea and scones at the end of the tour.

After a long dirt drive in, the experience was well worth it. Highly recommend full experience of under ground mine tour. Peter was an amazing tour guide. Scones and tea, coffee was well worth it at the end. Our Group of 6 highly recommend this.

This place was a great place to visit but a warning if you have a sore lower back or sore knees probably you should avoid it

Larry was a very informative and friendly tour guide that was great with all ages. His knowledge and passion for the Broken Hill area is evident. The underground mine was quite steep going in but hand rails makes it easier and accessible with younger children. The above ground tour was also great. The scones and tea at the end of the tour are delicious and well worth purchasing. A much recommended tour.

Great way to experience some of the history of the area and get a feel for what it may have been like over 100 years ago. The guide was informative but not the most charismatic. The mine was difficult for our taller members but not impossible and really fun for all.

Hi Mark, Isn’t it good we don’t have work or our loved one work like those Cornish miners did. The height of the mine rearly does portray how little the miners were so we try and get people to go sideways to help navigate the lower areas

Hi,
Does anyone know if the Day Dream mine tours are currently operating (July 20) . All of the links to the daydream tours website currently point to a site that appears to be selling mining equipment
And if yes, can anyone advise the tour times.
