Cemeteries share so much of the history of a town. The old cemetery is very overgrown and not all the graves are maintained which is sad. Also what is sad is the fact that there is a lot of unmarked graves.

Amazing cemetery with some interesting history. Its a little off the main street but very much worth the detour. Wear closed in shoes and lots of fly spray. We spent around 30 minutes here wandering amongst the graves.

Some of the older graves have not stood the test of time very well but nevertheless it is worth a visit. The cemetery also contains a shrine to miners that paid the ultimate sacrifice at the local mine.

A short drive from Silverton. We were there in a dust storm and the contrast of the gravesites against the ominous desert landscape with windswept trees was other worldly. Tip👉🏾you can drive around and still get a good sense of the place.

Such an interesting place to visit. Charming in many ways, just like the outback - sparse and remote, interspersed with vegetation among the red dirt. Not as many graves visible as you would expect given the size of the cemetery. Well worth the visit.

We are here today to show our love and support for Silverton's very precious family. Not only have we sensed our own personal feelings of loss over their passing, but our hearts have been drawn toward them, and will continue to be with them.
It's humbling to wander through this cemetery and read the headstones... early deaths, loving epitaphs... there is something to be said about the respect given to our pioneers by those they left to remember them.
This was the last place that my father and I visited in Silverton and it seemed fitting to have seen the cemetery as we were leaving. We. both found it quite interesting.

Within walking distance of Penrose Park caravan park. Pay your respects to those that did it the hard way so we don’t have too.

I think a must see is the cemetery . Wandering around the graves makes you understand how tuff life was out here .Sadly a lot of little ones died very young .Had the place to myself and spent a few hours just strolling around and strangely a good place to sit for awhile and just take it all in .
