Loved the big spaces at this Temple and I presume that the gardens will look magnificent in Summer. There were plenty of big trees and history to be learnt. Some interesting wooden dragons on the temple pillars. Sad we could not climb the Pagoda.

Doe de toer met rondleiding, er valt veel te zien en je kijkt snel over details heen. Ook hier weer veel Feng Shui. Prachtige tempel, ruim opgezet en voldoende ruimte om zonder mensen foto’s te maken. Let ook eens op het brandweer materiaal, geweldig. Fotogeniek!
Loop ook de bergjes eens op, ze brengen je op andere plekken dan de meeste toeristen doen. Verderop in het park ook een prachtig meertje, de achtergrond is schitterend om foto’s te maken.

de foto op site vertellen precies hoe het is. bij ons viel er mot regen. echter de bomen op de foto die bijna omvallen zijn heel oud en hebben heel indruk op ons gemaakt.

Durante il trasferimento dal Wutaishan a Pingyao abbiamo fatto una breve escursione al tempio di Jincy, un sito sacro con delle radici storiche veramente profonde. Templi in legno, statue e grandi alberi secolari. Diverse espressioni di natura, architettura e arte, a testimoniare una sensibilità religiosa che, tra taoismo e buddismo, si perde nelle più antiche dinastie cinesi.

I visited Jinci temple with a group and we spent several hours there which I recommend because the grounds are huge and beautiful and there are so many interesting very old structures to see and when you look inside there are many treasures to admire. The architecture is fascinating. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. This is a great place for photographers.

It is absolutely worth the trip out of Taiyuan, only 24km and accessible by bus, or you could do what we did which was to hire a car which we then dropped off at the airport in the evening.
The gardens and structures at this temple are amazing, and I mean the actual old temple, not the new one they have built on the way up the hill. I have travelled across a lot of China and had my Chinese friend with me who said she too had never seen such quality or beauty outside of Bejing.
The guides try to give you the hard sell on the way in but you didnt need it, (google would have been better but bing was ok on detail) amazing carving, lagoons, temples, there are also some truly ancient trees here.
Finally for the western tourist... the toilets are very clean... I used the disabled on and having been

I found the Buddhist garden to be the most peaceful & tranquil garden, although all of them were very nice indeed. The complex also features a leaning tree which is apparently thousands of years old.

Jin Ci temple is located about 40 minute drive out of Taiyuan city. It encompasses a huge complex of ancient Chinese buildings. pavilions, towers, shrines, ancient opera stages as well as the iron statue from the Song dynasty are all very spectacular to feast visitor's eyes. the whole complex of Jinci is situated on the site following ancient Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang. there are exquisite stone & brick carvings as well as beautifully sculpted dragons coiling around the wood pillars. If time permits, this place is surely a good place to see on the way to pingyao from taiyuan

If you are staying in or around Taiyuan, this is well worth a visit. It is about 25 km from Taiyuan. It is located in a large park and has gardens, a lake, and many pavilions, some as old as 1500 years old. There is a mixture of Daoist, Confucian, and Buddhist influences in the buildings. The grounds are large and you can spend several hours wandering around. The main attraction is the Saint Mother Hall, built in 984 AD. This seems to draw the largest crowds, as well as a 3000 year old cypress tree. There are guides offering their services near the entrance, but there are English signs. There are many food and souvenir stalls outside the temple grounds. Arrive early to beat the crowds. It gets crowded towards noon.

晋祠追其意，即晋之祠，是山西人的根之所在。里面虽然，没有说是亭台楼阁，但是却有着隋唐时期所特有的古典大气。一潭碧水也是颇为灵动。不过，我更感兴趣的却是每个殿阁门上的对联。
