This sacred holy river flow from upper reaches of the brahmagiri hills. It is 5 to 7 mins walking from Thirunelly temple. Walking along on secluded path is itself worth visiting for. The place is scenic, and tranquil.
People take a dip in the river and offer prayers for the souls of their ancestors.

It is a very nice spot very close to Tiruneli temple, if you continue walking from here then you will see very nice rain forest.

This is a sacred area for the Hindus, and the trek to this area starts from Thirunelli temple. We also had great birding in this area.

Papanasini river is behind the thirunelli temple. Papanasini means it wash all your sins. It is considered that bathing in this river will clear all your sins. So many people visit there. It's a historical place.

Right next to the Thirunelly temple. The pathway is nice, you have to take some moderately steep stairs to reach the origin of Papanashini river. A holy place for Hindus. River had dried up as we went in summer, but the location was pleasant with lot of greenery.

Papanashini is located near to the thirunelly Maha Vishnu temple. The entrance is very closely located, to the entrance of the temple. This is a small river which carried water from the top of the hills, and it's mainly intended for the rituals of the hindus as a part of the death of their near ones. The water is getting drained firm the top of the hills by a special mechanism. As it was summer there it was almost dried up and only small pockets of water was only available there. Altogether it's a good location to have a visit at.

This place was chilling and had an awesome greenery. Lots of people come here to perform the rituals and yet the place is kept clean

this can be accessed by over a half a kilometer walk. its a pleasant easy walk. throught leafy trees and a gurgling stream
