The bamboo rafting across the river was amazing and the walk to the lake ahead through the jungle was refreshing. Highly recommended

It's an over rated place frankly. Yes you do enjoy waking in the forest and then reach the kabini river at the end for a quick dip but that's it. They say bamboo rafting but that's for like 2mins and that too with so many people.
They allow only 1200 people in a day (575 from each gate. They have two gates) so you need to reach early as 7-8am. Then there are charges for entry and then for bamboo rafting. Then they drop you to the island where you walk for 1.5km till you reach the Kabini river where you can just dip you leg in it. As there are no changing rooms it's not feasible for everyone to bathe in it. The water is clean.
Can visit if you have not been on forest trek and you have extra time in Wayanad.
PS you fo get good pictures here if you are into photography....

Waste of time and money,if you want to spend time with nature, please select any other location. The bamboo ride,what they are calling bamboo rafting is not worth the money.

NO USE. firstly its very far from other tourist spots of wayanad, and then bamboo boat will take you for 10 mins.
You travel for 1 hour to reach the place and then boating for 10 mins, not at all worth.
Rowing of boat also not there, they use ropes to move the boat.

Kuruvadweep is a vast area which is very beautiful.
We have to take a bamboo raft to reach the island.
Unfortunatly as of now it is closed due to a case filed in high court.
As of now it offers only a ride through river in bamboo raft for 15 min.
Ride is quiet enjoyable if gone at morning time.
Kuruvadweep is expected to open within a couple of months with restrictions ojce the judgment is out.
I reccomend this place.

A beautiful place to visit, with each and every attraction are pure natural, Water flowing through the rocks at different depth . and a short distance to walk through the thick forest. But this place is not open to visitors during the rainy season because of the heavy rainfall and water overflow. and in summer because of the shallowness of the water.

We went with a hope of visiting this lovely island formed by kabini river.
The ride to this place was awesome ( we drove from tholpetty), through thick forests, lovely fresh coffee estates and beautiful houses decked up for th holiday season.
Nearest town is kartikulam,mananthavady.
Sadly now the ride to the island is shut down by the eco tourism department ,however you have bamboo rafting facility available here .all you have to do is just sit in the bamboo boat and scroll through it.
The water is deep and filled with crocodiles so they provide a life jacket. Duration of the ride is 15minutes.
It's worth it if your looking up for new experiences, it's open only till 4pm post which they shut down.
Nice place to chill and take photos.
There r plenty of hotels around the area .also they have a zip lining activity as well.

I would not recommend this place to visit. The facilities are poor. There is really nothing to do there and the lake is in terrible condition. Hardly anything to see or experience

This is an island measuring 950 acres in the Kabini river. Visiting the island is no longer permitted. There is a bamboo raft ride that is offered. T
This is the only thing available and we can go once for the experience. The rafts are moved in fixed directions by tugging on overhead ropes, by the boatman. No rowing. Metal oars are there on the raft, but are more a decorative element and may be used by us for rowing attempt and pictures. The last ticket for the ride is issued at 4:30pm and the place shuts by 5pm. The surrounding shops also shut by 5pm. Cost is around 300 per raft and 30 for car parking. Ride is about 15 minutes. There is a zip line nearby which we couldn't do for want of time and was closed by the time we came out at 5 pm.

No. It's waste of time and money. The eco tourism Authority has closed it. U can google for the contact number and confirm

Is kuruva island closed now!?. I am planning a trip to wayanad next weekend. And what are the places that would be like not to miss .I am with family and a kid.
I went two months back. It was functioning, its better to call office and cross check before you plan.

Yes February also fine. But reach there at the earliest. or else you will not get the ticket. only 200 tickets available per day.
