What to do on a very wet/windy Monday?? After exploring the nearby Sweet Heart Abbey, we headed down to the Cornmill where we were met by 2 lovely welcoming ladies! After watching a brief video we were taken for a tour round. It was very interesting and informative.
A lovely way to spend an hour or so before venturing out into the rain again!
The staff are definitely very knowledgeable and passionate about the Mill and the area.
Many thanks for a great visit.

Cracking corn mill totally refurbished and your shown around the whole mill from outside to 3 storeys up in the mill
Ther pond has sprung a leak.so didnt see mill working but no doubtmin the future they will find the leak and future visitors will see it operating
Well refurbished and the history is brill
A must hisit if visiting the abbey up the road

Myself and son (age 10) happened to stumble across this little gem while passing. Firstly we were grerted by two of the most lovely people who made us feel very welcome.
One took us on a guided tour of the mill where we spent a lovely hour learning about the history and workings of the mill.
There is a little gift shop that isn't too expensive.
Historic Scotland members also get a discount at the shop, I think it was 20%.
It's also worth mentioning that you can purchase a historic Scotland pass at the venue. For two adults and a child it's very reasonably priced.
Without the historic Scotland pass entry isn't expensive with kids with young Scots cards priced at £1, carers go free and adults are a fews pounds.
There are a few benches (just seats no tables) out the front beside a small pond where you could take a picnic or let the kids run around for a little while.
All in all an absolute pleasure to visit and we will be back again.
There is parking at the front door.
Its worth noting that there is stairs to each level so not sure how suitable it would be for people with mobility issues, so it may be worth calling ahead to make sure it's suitable.

Good tour around the historic mill taking about 30 minutes or so. It’s shame the waterwheel isn’t working, or even visible, though.

Visited this small gem with friends.
It is a working water mill that used to grind oats for porridge etc. On the day we visited it wasn’t working however the guide was very informative and she was very enthusiastic.
The only comments is that the mill looked totally closed down for the winter as the signage is poor and it looks very dark and closed. Only by trying the door we saw it was open.

The lady who showed us round was really knowledgeable and friendly. It was a most interesting place. Definitely recommend the Corn Mill.

George the curator was superb. He gave us a personal tour and clearly explained the mill and it’s history. If you are in the area it’s definitely worth a visit. We will come back when the restoration is completed.

Really interesting building with lovely staff. Will be fantastic once the waterwheel gets going (lack of water!).
Seeing the original wooden machinery and all the adaptations over the years was wonderful.
We were the only ones there.

We didn't know what to expect from our visit, but we thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Even though the mill wasn't in operation, the guides are clearly very proud of and passionate to share its history. It's well worth a visit!

Before the cornmill was refurbished was it used for anything else e.g. craft outlet . Regards

The mill has always been used for the purpose of milling. It is an original structure that has been preserved. It was never used for another purpose according to what I learned when visiting.
