Amazing place, much more than we expected as it wasn't really advertised very well, we walked up to the caves along a lovely river about 3 miles admission was £31.50 for us both but worth every penny and more. We were given hard hats and an instruction leaflet with a description of some of the caves important points to note. We had the cave to ourselves and we loved every minute of it, you can get a takeaway coffee at the mouth of the cave but not allowed any food or drink inside. Lovely cafe upon return to the ticket office called the Sawmill cafe. Also well worth a visit
Perfect end to our New Year Break.

Visited Santa’s Grotto for the first time with my niece. Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Really well organised and met lots of friendly elves along the way. The cave looked magical; the small, glittering snowmen were a hit with my niece.
Santa was great with the children and made all the adults laugh too.
A great way to get into the Christmas mood. Will definitely be back next year.

We visited Santa in the cave today 22 nd December it was a very magical afternoon for our grandchildren ages 4 and 2 . The elves Santa and all staff were so kind and made it fun for the children . Santa took time to speak to all the children and was lovely you can take photos with him too . The only tip I would say is it is a long walk from the sawmill cafe to the cave entrance . There was a shuttle bus but it’s a minibus so only seats about 10 and so we opted to walk both ways . All in all it was a magical experience and we all loved it .

We were looking for a Santa experience for our 3 children aged 8,9&12 that wasn’t too babyish, - Ingleborough cave was just perfect! The letter to Santa at the beginning was a really magical touch for the younger ones but the whole experience was magical fir the whole family, even my 12 (going on 18) year old son thoroughly enjoyed it! Very helpful, friendly staff and very reasonable prices in the refreshment hut too!

We had a wonderful time. The children lived the elves, the friendly atmosphere and cave. Father Christmas took time to speak to each child. Great choice of presents. Highly recommend 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

This is a magical visit every child should experience. If you only ever visit one Santa, make it this one. Our family have been visiting Santa in the cave for over 30 years- it is ALWAYS a delight: the elves bring the magic of Christmas alive, from the moment children enter the cave to the moment they emerge from the lowest part of the passage to find Santa is waiting round the corner. Their eyes twinkle as much as the fairy lights, Santa spends time talking with each child before sending them off to chose their own present.
Read the instructions, get there on time, dress for the weather and be prepared to walk "bending down" for a little way- wearing a hard hat: it all adds to a very special day out.
One big cheer for the mini bus driver (who ferries families up to the cave if they are not up to the mile walk in the rain) A flat tyre meant he had a tricky, muddy and difficult tyre change to perform up at the cave entrance in the wind and rain- he did so with a smile and good humour, emerged covered in mud then got the bus rolling with just a tiny hiccup while he found his Santa hat ! Just one of a wonderful team of people who work hard to provide this unique experience- well done to you all once again.

Santa experience with a 2 nearly 3 year old and babe in arms, first visit and it came highly recommended. Was a little concerned about the walk up hill with our boy, but was thankful that there would be a bus service to get us up the hill. However after waiting in the rain at the bus stop and wind for 40mins, we decided to start walking up. Having the other two members of our party walking up to save on places in the bus, I was solo. No phone signal. Turns out bus door was broken. But meant we missed our time slot to see Santa. After a bit of persuading we went in another slot. Was a little strange how we are told DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING, site of scientific interest, but then the Elves are jumping and climbing all over the formations… not ideal to model to the young ones! Good Santa experience, lovely choice of toys, and friendly staff. Can’t imagine that it’s an easy job, but they were joyful and happy! Story was a little too complex for my young child but would be entertaining for older children. (Why does it have to include fighting though?)
Waited again for mini bus for trip back down, again the other two adults members of party went and walked down. Only to find out that the bus was broken again. This time with a flat tyre. Not to be helped. But disappointing when we are expecting a service and could have made alternative arrangements for the walk. E.g. bringing a carrier or pram. Obviously quite defective bus!! Two issues in one morning! Walked back down carrying heavy child in the rain is not the most fun, again solo as we were expecting a bus ride! When we got to the bottom staff didn’t know that the bus was out of action. So where continuing to sign post people to the bus stop! I had to let them know.
Staff really should have radios so they can keep in contact with each other, share information for the customer experience. Think that they also should have radio communication for emergencies, what if there was a medical issue while on the bus, or in the cave?

Took my 3 young grandchildren 4,5and 5and we all loved it
Read the instructions, and it all runs very smoothly. Car parking was easy. A short walk to the bus. Hot chocolate while we waited. Then a pleasant walk back down the hill to finish.
The caves were magical and the elves and Santa made the event.
Someone put a lot of thought into the selection of presents, and letting the kids choose an unwrapped toy was a great idea
All in all a great day out. Thanks guys.

We visited Ingleborough Cave over the weekend to see Santa and what an incredible well thought out experience, even in a storm! Made visiting Santa much more magical for my 4 year old son. Everything was amazing and so much effort and enthusiasm from the members of staff, thank you all. Also great value for what we paid!

Could anyone tell me what footwear is appropriate when visiting the caves. Would trainers be ok? TIA.

Hi, yes dogs are more than welcome in both the cave and on the trail, providing they’re kept on a lead. Thanks.

Is this walk accessible for standard (ie not all-terrain) electric wheelchairs? If not, do you know how to get the accessible minibus which you mention? Thanks in advance
كُتب بتاريخ 3 مارس 2020
Good Morning Georgie,
We do not recommend using standard electric wheelchairs on the path for a couple of reasons. Although the track is well maintained, it is still ultimately gravel, and it also climbs at a steady incline. We wouldn’t want you to damage your electric wheelchair, or for the battery to run out part way up due to the additional strain the gravel and the incline are putting on the battery.
The all terrain powered wheelchair, a.k.a the tramper, can be pre-booked over the phone or via email.
We hope to see you visiting soon.

Hi looking for advice/guidance. How long is the tour in the caves? Is there anywhere you recommend visiting or seeing whilst there, planning to bring a group of international students.
Cheers

Think the tour is just under an hour with a guide. Personally, I didn't find anything else worth seeing. Gaping Gill is about an hour away, you walk past Ingleborough cave to get to it, but you would have to check when there are tours as only open a couple of times a year. Hope this helps
