From my other review - 6 Stars if I could - you have to try this here at least once in your life
Summary - Outback Paintball - you cannot go wrong here! A great birthday place, A real life experience that will bring groups together, boost confidence in those who need it, Improve the team athlete in areas parents spend too much on trying to develop, Owner is Amazing and Invested in the sport and your good experience!
Not Summary (Rant)
Kids had a blast ! Perfect Place for 14th birthday! Owner was more than accommodating - we called ahead, and he had everything setup before we arrived, (it took no time to get going), he was down to earth, outgoing, knowledgeable about the art of teamwork and strategy, he set the kids up, made sure they understood everything about the game and about playing safely. BTW for the few parents concerned about pain - wear loose clothing and no pain - parent tested as a target lol - and for safety - I think his level of supervision and concern for safety is bar none higher than most coaches, parents and teachers I have seen - he is 100% present and his experience shows.
During play, (and we played for almost 5 hours) as a ref, he was focussed, kept things running smoothly, jumped in where he needed to ref, he also shared knowledge to help the kids get more out of the game (strategy teamwork etc - there was a significant improvement in the one day and most the kids were fairly new to it), the few times a kid clogged a gun, he cleaned it and replaced it immediately.
Outback has propane barbecues, a picnic area under a big roof (it rained a bit while we were there, but it didnt stop the kids from having fun), we brought burgers etc and took a break for lunch. It is rustic (that is what I love most about it, if you need creature comforts for paintball you probably aren't getting off your couch enough anyway, I hoped the kids would have a tough it out experience and give them something outside of the prefab served up experiences they encounter all the time). At the same time Outback Paintball not lacking as a paintball site - there is a lot of thoughtful space to play in - with many obstacles, buildings and terrain, providing a challenging opportunity that offer many levels of opportunity for creativity in strategy.
I would highly recommend this as an active outdoor alternative to video games like fortnite, for parties, as a team building event for offices, as an empowering activity for any group wanted to rebuild confidence, as an extended family reunion therapy session (a man can dream), I am sure the owner can gauge your needs and offer a positive experience.
And I know there are parents out there spending $1000's on training for their up and coming athlete - a recognized skillset to succeed in team sports (or in my case - make a soon to be licensed driver safer) is amplified on the paintball field - there is even software to train athletes in it and it is expensive - Paintball gives the athlete the ability to improve a core mental function - the ability to be aware of and react to many things simultaneously in real time while you and everything around you is moving - your awareness and reaction time is highly intensified, - a must for paintball, and with a real immediate consequences that make your choices felt and undeniable - and you will get a good workout to boot.
I cannot say enough, again 6 stars if i could!

I brought my son and a few of his friends for a couple of rounds. Unfortunately, some of my sons friends cancelled last minute. Not a problem, Ryan, the owner, arranged for a few players to join in. the kids had a great time. It was well run, the equipment was all top notch and supervised. Lots of equipment to rent, drinks on site and the local pizzeria delivers. The kids loved it and really enjoyed themselves. They'll be back for sure.
Don't hesitate bringing first timers here. The refs will lay out the rules, explain everything and supervise the game. There are a variety of courses and scenarios and all contained on a huge property.

First time family came here with friends to play paintball. We were greeted by the owner, Ryan, who accepted our waivers which you can fill out there or print at home from he website and bring in.
We walked down a short trail to pay to rent a face mask, air, paintball marker and paintballs. You can rent camo jackets ($5) which we did and coveralls to protect yourself and your clothing. Don't show up in flip flops and shorts. We were briefed on how the mini games work, safety, how to use the paintball marker and what to do once we have been hit by splattered paint.
We had an extra helper play with our private group which was great because he encouraged us to keep moving in the field and not just hide behind buildings. There are forested areas for cover and wooden semi walls. It was a great battlefield and Outback has more fields too.
Truthfully, yes, it does sting once you get hit then you come off he field and rest on a bench outside the mesh walls until the game is done. It was not rushed at all and a lot of fun! The teenagers had a great time running through the field and planning their attacks on the opposite team.
When the games are over and you are out of paint, you can go to the shack and buy more paint or just be done and buy a can of pop or ice cream sandwich or treat for $1 or more. Very reasonable prices and patient staff. We had a great day and recommend Outback Paintball (Newcastle) for a great rush of physical activity. Bring water! You will get hot. There are outhouses onsite too.
