Recently on 14 oct we visited khasplateau and booked 3 to 6 pm slot and after reaching there nothing is there to see hardly you will able to see 3 or 4 flowers and when we enquired the security they told that flowees bloom only in mornings and you need to come mornings to see the view and colorful nature. my advice to others who are planning to visit , book your slot only in mornings and visit in sep not in oct...if you plan to visit in oct you will not able to enjoy the beauty of colorful flowers.nothing is there to see in oct that too after early mornings. ours is disappointed trip .

This place is a must visit to experience nature's work. Different varieties of colourful flowers admist beautiful valley view gives you the aura of tranquility. Sharing certain important points for future travellers.
- The flower blooms at the peak of monsoon normally mid September to mid October.
- You may book the tickets in advance through Kaas plateau website which also updates on blooming of flowers by sharing pictures on daily basis. The tickets can also be purchased at the counter.
- If you are coming from Mahabaleshwar prefer taking Satara- Medha- Mahabaleshwar road which is the longest but smoothest route. Rest two routes may give you the best view of the valley and wind turbines but are very narrow and hardly any vehicles are seen.
- The parking is little far from the gates of Kaas plateau. Free bus service is given by the management from parking to the gates. The busses run on frequent basis so the wait time is not more than 5 to 10 mins on weekdays.
- Prefer visiting on weekdays as the crowd is less.
- Visit timings are from 10 am to 6 pm.
- Management has placed staffs from gates to parking for guidance.
- Once entered you have to walk to experience nature's beauty. Normally it takes 15- 20 mins to walk around.
- There are brick paths for you to walk safely but there are muddy and slippery patches in between so wear your walking shoes accordingly.
- Once you are out of the gate the busses will take you back to the parking.
- Although there are few shades for you to take shelter from rain but carry your rain protectors for sure.

The road from Satara is really good with great views of the lakes far below on either side. The Kaas Plateau was covered with mostly the yellow flowers. Thre pink and purple varieties had limited growth. But the view of the valley and the lake far below was quite pristine..
The vehicles that transport tourists from the Parking lot to the plateau were not in good condition and the toilets were shabby. There is no quality eatery near the park but there are some hotels en route from Satara whìch may be offering snacks but we did not try them.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed. Absolutely nothing to rave about except for the view, location. But can't expect anything better from a 2 star hotel . Though the staff tried to solve problems as best as they could

World heritage site managed by the local wildlife department. Need to book your slot in advance online. The flowers bloom from mid Sept to mid October varying from year to year based on the rains.theb3 slots are from 7 to 11 am 11am to 3pm and 3pm to 6pm. One adult ticket is 100rs and you need to keep a hard copy with you for inspection. Large classic deccan trap plateau on top of the mountain ranges with the beautiful Kaas Lake. The plateau place host once a year to a pleothara of wild flowers of various colours that are very pleasing to the eye. I recomend going into the first gate. You have to go to the parking and will be moved by Kaas bus costing 10rs per person and will be dropped off at gate 3. Better view of the flowers.

I went on 24-25 September weekend though initially I was planning to go on 10th-11th weekend but when I enquired about Online tickets on Kas official website then they mentioned that flowers hadn't come in full bloom by that time.
Kas Plateau valley of flowers is supposed to come in full bloom in September, but this year because of the prolonged rains the number of flowers were slightly less than what we would've seen in full bloom.
Near by places to visit if you are planning a short trip is
1) Sajjangarh Fort
2) Windmill Area
3) Thoseghar Waterfall (Windmill area)
If you are staying in Satara then you can do all three in a single day.
Since mine was a short trip with only one nights stays I could cover only these 3 along with the valley of flower. Kas Plateau and Kas lake and will take up most of your first day, and there is significant walking involved so best not to club it with anything else.

A beautiful place to spend in the lap of nature.
Try to visit on a weekday rather than on weekends, to enjoy this miracle of nature.
Weekends are really crowded.
Best to reach by 9 am and spend about 3 -4 hrs.
There are 4 gates and the number of flowering plants vary depending on the sunshine and rains.
Kumudini flowers close by afternoon, so visit that in the morning itself.
You have to park your vehicle in the parking lot and go by a bus upto the gates.
Carry a hat or cap, sunglasses, umbrella and a light jacket as it can get really windy.
Wear good walking shoes.
There are lots of places to see, nearby like Thoseghar waterfalls, Ekeev waterfall, Bamnoli, where you can enjoy boating or simply sit by the scenic backwaters of Koyna dam.
The drive to Kaas itself is very scenic, with lush greenery, paddy fields, mountains and water falls.
We even spotted two peacocks on the way.
There are some nice small hotels to stay with traditional and tasty maharashtrian food.
Overall a great experience.
Would love to visit again.

Just 5 hours from Mumbai, an amazing place. The place comes alive for a short period towards end of monsoon e.g. end August to mid October. One can stay at Satara or some moderate hotels nearby.
There are limited slots and online booking is available. Please prefer to from Satara which is just 45 minutes drive. Route from Mahabelashwar is treacherous.

I am trying to do booking for august 2024, but in their website they mentioned that "online booking is closed. Entry passes will be available at the entrance from October 16th to October 30th, 2023" ,
is it open in august or not?
