‪Off leash dog beach!!‬
أكتوبر 2020
‪A little out of the way, but what's wrong with that. Nice beach, could use some more adult toilet facilties. A short hike from the parking lot to the beach. ‬

‪Trail is badly overgrown‬
زوجان • سبتمبر 2021
‪We’ve hiked the Limantour Spit trail in the past and looked forward to returning. We were disappointed to find that the trail is now terribly overgrown (?lack of volunteers to maintain it, due to covid?). Kept hoping that we didn’t pick up ticks along the trail. Yes, the beach was lovely, even on a cool & windy summer day, but we went there for the hike. Hope to find improved conditions the next time we are at Pt Reyes. ‬

‪Easy access and short hike‬

‪Had the beach entirely to ourselves. Great place to get in the fresh air and disconnect. Saw elk and foxes on our way out! ‬

‪GREAT BEACH THAT GOES ON FOR MILES‬
يناير 2021
‪This is a lovely beach but the only caveat is that, if you have mobility problems, you will want to forego it. The parking lot is about a five minute trek to the beach and the trail is dirt and sand.‬

‪Rugged. Wild. Yet. Scenic‬
أكتوبر 2020
‪On the day of our visit, Bear Valley was closed due to the pandemic and road construction. Detour took us to a surprising discovery of Limantour Beach. Right next to the free parking site is the trailhead to the beach. Walk pass sandy wetlands and follow the sound of the waves to the beach. Otherwise, you could, which we didn’t do, hike the trail along the rugged sand spit, in and around the estuary/waterways, and be prepared to get lost and find your way in the grasslands/wetlands and beyond. At the end of the beach, lie down in the sand dunes, relax and listen to the sound of the waves. The sand dunes are the centerpiece in this scenic spot of vast wilderness and unique beauty. Here, the waves can be very unpredictable, so stay clear of the waves and be wary. Weather can be cool and damp, so dress warmly. Water is cool. Swim at your own risk. No lifeguard stationed. Bring sandals or walk barefoot, but be careful of broken seashells. Check weather outlook and beach closure prior to visit esp during breeding season (Feb??) for Point Reyes elephant seals, which periodically colonize Point Reyes sandy pocket beaches and headlands. .‬

‪Beautiful rolling grassy beach!‬

‪Beautiful and easy beach to walk on! Not many people on it in October. Lots of fog and a gorgeous view on the drive in. Worth it!‬

‪Great day trip in Northern CA‬
يونيو 2020
‪We arrived at Limantour Beach around 11:30 a.m. on a weekday. The parking lot was about half full when we arrived. There is a short walk from the parking lot to the beach, with bathrooms close to the parking lot. It was a clear and sunny day, no coastal fog on the day we went. Once we reached the beach, we made a left turn and walked 2 miles along the beach until we reached a tide pool area at low tide. There was a lot to see in the tide pools, including lots of crabs, hermit crabs, sea anemone and sea stars. The beach itself was pretty clean and there was a lot of space for social distancing. The area right where the path led from the parking lot had the most people, but even so there was plenty of room. If you walked a little further, you had the entire beach to yourself. We found a few clamshells and sand dollars washed up on shore. We also saw a lot of jellyfish washed up on the shore so be careful when going in the water. I rated the beach as excellent because Of the relative short distance for a day trip for us, as well as bathroom facilities, short walk from the parking lot to the beach, clean beach, and beautiful views. We didn’t even get a chance to walk to the right side along the beach, along the spit, as well as do some hiking on the trails in the area. We spent 6 hours there and we could have stayed even longer. We will definitely visit again.‬

‪Beautiful day at the beach‬
العائلة • يونيو 2020
‪We visited Limantour on a weekday and arrived around 11:30 am. There was plenty of free parking and it was a short walk from the parking lot to the beach itself. We lucked out and went on a clear sunny day with temperatures in the mid 70s. Once we reached the beach, we turned left and walked about 2 miles and reached the tide pool area right at low tide. There is a lot to see there, lots of crabs, hermit crabs, sea anemone and sea stars. The beach is very wide and although we saw about 50 cars in the parking lot, once you left the immediate beach area closest to the parking lot, you have the whole beach to yourself, perfect for social distancing! We saw quite a few jellyfish washed up on shore so be careful if you go in the water. We just got our feet wet and didn't go in very far. There is no lifeguard on duty and the waves looked a little rough. We didn't go to the right towards the end of the spit, so we don't know if it is safer to swim in that direction. The estuary is also on that side so I imagine the water would be calmer in that side. We spent 6 hours there and could have easily spent more. Highly recommend as a great day trip in Northern Cal!‬

‪A gentle surf on the sheltered side of the Point Reyes Peninsula‬

‪You can walk about a mile in either direction from the parking lot, with sparse beachcombing and usually gentle breezes. ‬

‪Nice Walk‬
فبراير 2020
‪We parked at the hostel and took the Fire Line trail over the hill and down to the ocean. It was not amazing, quite scrubby, and no ocean view. Walking along the ocean part was wonderful, and provided great views of water and cliffs. We ate a picnic on the beach, dipped in the freezing water, and then took the Coastal Trail back to the car. Again, the hike back was not spectacular; just scrubby brush. We were happy to have done Fire Line first with the hills, as Coastal Trail back was a flat road. Would I recommend this? Hmmm. Nice 5 mile walk so yes. We saw zero people on our Monday walk. Very very very quiet and isolated.‬
