‪Great fun in lovely surroundings, a proper cottage kitchen. Lived in, worked in & loved. We learnt so much about proper bread & how we fall into accepting lesser quality produce. We learnt simple tips which clearly make a great difference to the end result. I am now confident it is easy to start but sure it will need practice to get it right. Diana is a great teacher, knowledgable & enthusiastic with a passion for what is good & why.‬

‪What a great day I had at the course with Diana. More like learning from a friend. Very relaxed and informative. Good lunch included. Always happy to answer questions. Came home totally inspired. Would recommend it to everybody.‬

‪Went today and had such a good time! Learnt so much and see where I have been going wrong for years!! Cannot wait to make the focaccia at the weekend plus try out the technics when making pizzas!! Thank you so much and I promise to use less poppyseeds next time!!‬

‪I definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to make their own bread. Di was fantastic, really friendly and knowledgable. You'll learn loads and have fun too. Since attending the course I have made 5 loaves of bread and they have all been successful.‬

‪The bread making course that Di ran was excellent. Di made the group feel totally at home, there was just the right level of information and getting hands on making the bread. I can’t believe how much we covered in a day, and it was lovely being able to try out the end result over lunch. As a total bread making novice I felt both enthused and confident to put my skills to practice as soon as I got back home. I’ve been recommending the course to friends. ‬

‪Time flew. I learnt so much. Thank goodness we were given ready printed recipes and I made a few notes.
Diana is very welcoming, and energetic and full of enthusiasm for her baking and imparting and enabling others to understand the magic of bread making.
The class was small, there were 4 of us around the kitchen table with our read weighed out ingredients. Diana explained every step of the way for each loaf we made. She was tireless answering questions. I now know why my bread baking was not successful when I have attempted it at home.
A very lovely lunch was provided, and Diana catered for my dietary needs, I am vegan,

Would I recommend this course? Definitely. Its value for money. I cant wait to start baking at home. My yoga students on their Italian retreat will get real yummy home made bread.‬

‪My wife bought me the course as a present, because although I like to cook I have never "baked", and she came along too. What a fantastic day we had. Although you learn absolute loads of really useful stuff, you never feel like you are being taught or lectured in any way. It's relaxed, great fun and all conducted sitting around a large kitchen table in a lovely country cottage (just with a serious professional bread oven and industrial scale mixers lurking about!!!). Di is just so friendly, warm and open, and you can't help but be captivated by her energy, enthusiasm and downright love for bread in all forms. She clearly revels in sharing her experience and knowledge, along with some brilliant anecdotes along the way, and you end up quite entranced by the whole thing. Then to cap it all you are treated to a terrific lunch, prepared and served by her charming husband (The Underbaker !) which includes wine and some beautiful bread Di has just shown you how to prepare and cook. At the end of the whole thing you head off home with loaves of scrumptious fresh bread mixed, proved and baked by yourself. Honestly I can't remember when I last enjoyed myself so much.
You could be a total novice like me or an already competent cook or baker and you would still have the best time ever. I can't recommend it highly enough.

‪This Bread Angel course is run by the lovely Di in her beautiful home. Having given up all hope of eating proper bread and no more insipid, tasteless processed loaves, I signed up for her day long course. My efforts at bread making were a disappointment to me, the results only “acceptable “ at best, I had no idea what I was doing wrong.. Di has come to my rescue! As soon as I walked into her kitchen I knew I was in safe hands and this was going to be a wonderful day. The courses are small, normally 4 people but I was ultra lucky being the only student. Everything was provided for me and we set to work. It’s a hands on course, no lectures (thankfully) but a stream of excellent advice, including a history of bread, the different flours, different types of bread etc etc. All delivered in a friendly and relaxed manner. Di interspersed the ‘theory’ with practical tips and anecdotes that made the learning a pleasure. She explained the equipment needed, the techniques for the actual baking and how to store it. A delicious lunch was provided including some of the bread we had made. What stands out for me was what a lovely person Di is. I felt relaxed immediately in her warm, friendly and knowledgable company . Throughout the day, Di gently guided me when I was going wrong and encouraged me with affirmation when things went well. We also laughed - a lot.
At the end of the day, I left with recipes and notes, but most importantly the 5 breads I had made. They tasted wonderful, just how bread should be. I knew where I had been going wrong and Di has given me confidence to continue to bake my own bread and
I even managed to produce a fabulous loaf on my first solo attempt. Di is a warm, knowledgeable, generous and very kind woman. I am grateful for her patience and for her encouragement. I am now hoping to sign up for more courses with her.if you’re thinking of doing this course, sign up now, you won’t regret it.‬
