Loved this! So cute and beautiful. A little hidden gem! No one there when we went which made it all the better 😍 definitely worth the effort to get to. Nice walk back to the hotel

For me, one of the highlights of Guernsey.
Great to reach by bus 71, I was about 20-30 minutes on site and could even take the next bus back to town.
Loving and impressive, especially inside the church. Colorful, cheerful colors in the individual "mosaics". There are many details and scenes to discover there. A real experience.

It's the most beautiful little colorful chapel I've ever seen! Enchantingly beautiful with shells and mosaic (including v Wedgwood). You must have seen this and definitely make a donation!

The Little Chapel was a work of art and labour of love built by Brother Déodat, who started work in March 1914. His plan was to create a miniature version of the famous grotto and basilica at Lourdes in France. Today stands the third version.
The first, measuring a tiny 9 feet long by 4.5 feet wide, was criticised as being too small by his fellow brothers, so Brother Déodat spent the following night demolishing the building. He soon set to work again and, in July 1914, the grotto was completed and officially blessed. This survived until September 1923; Brother Déodat demolished it in that month because the Bishop of Portsmouth had not been able to fit through the doorway, he had been invited to consecrate the Chapel.
He soon set about the construction of a third chapel - which is the one we see today. The building operation proved laborious, collecting pebbles and broken china to decorate the shrine. Then suddenly the Little Chapel became famous. Presents poured in from around the world and Islanders brought coloured china to Les Vauxbelets with the Lieutenant-Governor offering a remarkable mother-of-pearl.
In 1939 Brother Déodat returned to France because of ill health. After his departure the care of the Little Chapel was entrusted to Brother Cephas, who continued to decorate the building until his retirement in 1965. In 1977, a committee was established to restore the chapel and today it falls under the care of The Little Chapel Foundation.

Wish I had gone earlier in the day to spend more time admiring this small gem. Never seen anything like it. Very beautiful and peaceful. Took a bus from town. Bus stops right outside the lane to the chapel.

Amazing little chapel. Larger that I expected, with a reasonable amount of room. You walk in from one end then go down a couple of levels using stairs.

A little jewel, certainly a little kitch but very impressive and spiritual. This small mosaic chapel is nestled in a green setting. Volunteers who restored it continue to pamper it to make it live and it deserves a visit.

One of the must see sites when visiting Guernsey. Whatever you do don't miss the Little Chapel. Its a special place that has a special feel to it. A moving experience.

Reading about this we had to go when visited Guernsey it's so beautiful set in a quiet area but easy to get to by local bus my first thought was wow it's gorgeous like from a fairy tale it's only tiny but you can go inside & see how amazing it is

I think you do pay. I didn’t go there. I read another review which said it was mainly corporate groups who went.
Not sure about the bus - sorry. Nowhere is very far, so a taxi probably wouldn’t cost much.

I went by bus, the 71 from St Peter's Port for £1. I did a quick tour of the place and back on the bus about 20 mins later. Very easy

Hi William. I can't answer your question reliably but I know whilst we were in Guernsey a lot of people mentioned they got the bus to tourist attractions all the time. I think the bus service is excellent and I remember a bus stop being virtually outside the little chapel.
