東門城建立於清朝，歷經日據時代迄今，已在新竹市內矗立近兩百年，為新竹的重要地標。城門建築本身充滿力與美，無論從任何角度欣賞均有其美感。近年來與週遭的護城河公園結合，成為一帶狀景點，可優遊自在地漫步其間體驗新竹的歷史與文化。

Hsinchu's Eastern Gate is quite spectacular. It was once the entry to the city. These days, its surrounded by traffic, but you can still get a good view.

迎曦門ともよばれ、新竹にあった東西南北の門と城壁はこの門以外、1902年日本統治時代に取り壊されました。ただひとつ残った門を修復したものです。交通量の多い大きなロータリーの真ん中にあり、地下道で行けます。

The East Gate is walking distance from the Hsinchu Railway Station, which dates from the Japanese colonial period (1895-1945). The East Gate appears to be the only significant remnant of Hsinchu's historical city walls. The gate is at the heart of the city. The East Gate colorful and well constructed, you are likely to bump into it if you are traveling by train or take the bus from the HSR Station.

隨著時代的變遷，全台還能看到日式時期的建築，「新竹火車站」是會被很多人提起的。

this is one of my favourite spots in Hsinchu, specially in nights. You can see some music/dance events held by the locals there in spring or fall time. I like to walk around that area in the night. It is also very close to the station. The place is surrounded by many cuisine attractions.

Betreft een authentieke Chinese stadspoort, gelegen in het midden van een rotonde waar vele drukke straten op uit komen. Leuk om te zien, maar niet iets om voor om te lopen.

de poort ligt in een park, het centrum van een rotonde. Je ziet de poort van op afstand, dichterbij komen is een hachelijke onderneming met het verkeer dat van overal komt

Worth a walk past, but not much more. Gate is relatively small compared to others in Taiwan and elsewhere in North Asia. Good for a quick photo oppoelrtunity.

This gate is probably the only remain of the old HsinChu city, can date back more than 100 years... It’s located fairly close to the railway station, the busiest area of HsinChu... There’s a small park around the gate where one can take some pictures etc , and that’s about it...
