Looking at the "Jimmy Square Park" across the road, there are several old houses on the roadside. The trees in front of the houses are green and poetic, and I am deeply attracted. I can't wait to cross the road to take a closer look.
The protagonist is Jimmy's installation art sculpture, which is colorful and full of vitality. Surrounded by old buildings and not many residents, these sculptures appear lively and interesting, changing the atmosphere of the entire area and driving the flow of people. A series of sculptures include people, animals, and suitcases of various sizes scattered throughout the park. They have different shapes and expressions, which are very pleasing to the eye. I do not understand why this place is rated as the No. 1 attraction in Yilan. Most of the statues consist of oversized bags. There are very few things to actually take pictures of and most of it is faded. Don't make this place your main reason for coming to Yilan - just have a quick look if you are near the train station.

This was my first time visiting Yilan Station, and I took the train to Hualien. The station building is unique in that it has a giraffe on the front, based on the motif of Jimmy Liao, a Taiwanese picture book author. There is also a park in front of the station, where the world of Jimmy's picture books unfolds, so I would definitely like to stop by.

The city of #Yilan, just 1 hour north of #Taipei #Taiwan by train, is a city of colorful art in public spaces. Because it is the hometown of Jimmy Liao, a famous Taiwanese writer, painter, and storyteller.

We visited this small park in mid. Jan. 2023. It has an interesting story, but not too much to see, and it has not been well maintained.

宜蘭火車站,旁邊有幾米廣場,我覺得這很適合拍照也很有獨特性,以前有看過幾米的繪本,我在這邊拍照的很開心,是個免費又方便的景點

駅舎のキリンがすごく可愛い。台湾ですっかりジミー・リャオの世界にはまりました。でもあまりの人の多さにびっくり。広場は写真を撮る人で溢れていました。

南の日差しや風雨にさらされて、少し色あせてしまったジミーさんの作品たち。
もう少し、手入れされていると魅力がアップするなと思います。
天気が良いと映えますが、曇天だとより一層くすんで見えます。（写真写りがよくありません…）
でも、そこに表現されている概念は、万国共通だと感じさせられました。
日本時代の建物が一部、残されていて不思議な感覚になりました。
駅にはコインロッカーがあります（改札に向かって左手、黄色いドア。50 元）ので、大きな荷物は預けておけます。
もう少し、手入れされていると魅力がアップするなと思います。
