Nice place to visit when you are around the neighbourhood. Quite a long history of this house and also the items display are all from the original owner and some are donations of the famous local celebrities as well.

I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're already in Silay and has nothing to do. We were not guided and the place is forgettable among our trips in Iloilo and Bacolod.

The balay negrense is a place where many historical events happened. Its a place where you can learn about the history of silay and also the island of negros.

The ancestral house of Victor Fernandez Gaston, despite its age, still stands proud as the Balay Negrense, the centerpiece of Silay City's heritage district. The museum offers visitors a nostalgic trip back to when sugar barons in Negros enjoyed the opulence of post-colonial Philippines. Balay Negrense can be enjoyed at your own pace but it could be more interesting if you insist on a guided tour.

The tour is nice but don't go there after 3 pm because its kinda eerie. The tour is educational. The tour guide is also friendly. The place is also antique way back to 1880s.

Beautiful, well-preserved house. The staff were able to discuss each rooms perfectly and give us a glimpse of one of the elite families in Negros.

Of course, there is an entrance fee but you get a guide who tours you around the house, explains the history of the rooms and items, answers any questions you may have and takes your pictures, to boot (which is a good thing cos they know the best places, angles and lighted areas).
Very nice to see a heritage house so well maintained although the guide did say that most of the furnitures/items in the house were a hodge-podge of antiques donated by various high-society families from Bacolod. Still, we enjoyed the tour and learned some things about Bacolod and pre-war society life
They also have a mini-souvenir shop at the back

Full of history and learning about lifestyle of the old era people. You will learn a lot and you'll be enticed with how the place is being managed, maintained and well kept.

As a person who loves the history of things, I recommend this place, it can tell a lot about the history of Silay, the affluent families of the past and how the house survived the ravages of time.

When we went there we paid only 60 pesos per head. There's a discount for senior citizens (Php 45) and students (Php 30). However, I heard that they're increasing the price to Php 100.
