It was a nice experience walking inside this historical house. You'll learn a lot about the story behind it. Recommended and very educational, especially for those people who love history. The tour guide is also very accommodating and you know she knows a lot of knowledge about the house.

The Bernardino Jalandoni House, also known as the Pink House, is located right along the main road in Silay's heritage district. The ancestral house-turned-museum gives visitors a blast from the past, back when sugar barons of Negros are enjoying the opulence of post-colonial Philippines.
Visiting the museum would have been more interesting if only the museum attendant would be more attentive to visitors' needs and not just leave them to their own devices.

The wealth of ancestral homes in Silay City that have been turned into walk-through museums provide an important avenue to understanding the way of life of the early sugar barons, and the physical form that it took. The architecture (completed 1908) alone is often interesting, demonstrating how business was divided from family, design for air circulation, the influence of travel to Europe and furnishings of the home, and the expression of Philippine architecture through the Bahay na Bato. In November 1993, the National Historical Institute declared the Jalandoni House a National Historical Landmark, the first to be recognized as such in the City of Silay.

This is one of the old houses found along the main stree of Silay City, noted of the intricacies of its designs and certified by the government as part of the city'a culture and arts. Like the Balay. Negrense, it showcased the classic taste of Silaynons to archictecture and grand designs. After all, this is the hometown of the famous architect of the the palace of the king of Brunie and some popular people like soprano Conchita Gaston, to name a few.

The pink mansion is not the nicest in Silay but because of the guide who is in charge of the visit, it’s for sure the best one. Thanks to him we learned many interesting things, often said in a funny way. Don’t miss the Bernardino Jalandino Museum

1st of the 3 museums visited, compared to other guides, this guy knows his stuff and engages his audience, thus it was fun learning, gave us definitve differences compared to other museums, i like the provision of abaniko, whilst on tour not only because its hot and humid but i think its personal, dont miss the big kawa outside to cook the mascuvado sugar

The guide will point out some key differences between the two houses and how the people lived during that time. There are of course similarities but it is interesting to note the differences.

Second best ancestral home in Silay. Well maintained. A bit darker inside compared to Gaston house. During the old days, ice used to come from the United States and would cost about P5000 a kilo in today's money. Imagine that.
