‪Traversing the Fiery Furnace‬
الأصدقاء • سبتمبر 2021
‪Wow! We did the self guided tour, and (purposely) got lost several times. Many nooks and crannies to explore and there is always something interesting around every corner. Amazing landscapes and challenging hiking, but well worth it. Should be a bucket list destination.‬

‪Awesome scenery. Too bad the Mormons own the whole friggin state. They don't deserve it. You are welcome to visit, but if you want to move there, they want you to join the LDS church.‬

‪Wow! What an experience!‬
العائلة • أغسطس 2021
‪We hiked Fiery Furnace with our 10 and 12 year olds and it was an amazing experience! It felt like 60% of the time we were rock scrambling. There were parts that felt scary and dangerous but there was a sense of accomplishment once you got through it. Definitely used muscle groups I never thought I had! Lol! Some spots were so narrow that our backpacks didn’t even squeeze through! We got lost plenty of times. The arrows are small. There were some times where the arrow pointed a certain direction and we were thinking no way could that be the path! Traversing over humongous boulders suspended in between other cliffs with small narrow ledges…. But sure enough, it certainly was the way!

We arrived at the park at 8:10 am Saturday, No lines to get in. We picked up the hiking permit at the visitor center. Only 1 other family ahead of us in line. We watched the 7 minute video. The ranger’s tip was to walk to the right at the break of the fence at the parking lot. (Instead of the straight path forward that people instinctively gravitate towards. Which is actually the path that we returned on).

After you descend on the path to the right, you will need to turn left to get to the next arrow. We made a right and we were lost trying to look for the next arrow for about an hour. Along the way, we saw a family who downloaded a Fiery Furnace Booklet for a fee. It had broken up the hike into about 10 stages with pictures and secret spots such as skull arch that we had totally missed. We spent about 3 hours on the hike.

There is currently a haze from the California and Oregon wild fires.‬

‪Best Part of Arches in July‬
يوليو 2021
‪You need a permit to access the Fiery Furnace and they are available on recreation.gov a week in advance. There are no crowds in the Fiery Furnace because of the limit of permits, which was one of the reasons we liked it so much!!!

In the summer, I recommend picking up your permit the day before, so you can get an early start on the day of your hike. If not, you have to meet with the rangers which took about 30 minutes and then it is a 30 minute drive. The earliest you could start is nine.

We started at 7 am. The entire hike was in the shade, except the last 5-10 minutes when you were finishing. We each brought 1/2 gallon of water, and had about 16-20 oz of water prior to hiking. There are lots of beautiful places just to take water/snack breaks.

My teenagers loved all the scrambling and rock climbing. There are narrow parts, steep parts, but there are also just times when you are walking in a sandy wash and it is like a normal hike in the most beautiful place.

We downloaded the AllTrails app, and it helped us. We felt like we didn't miss too many arrows, but about 4-5 times we would get to a section and literally felt like we had no idea which direction to head next. Even using the app, we would have to backtrack to get back on track quite a bit, but we never felt totally "lost."‬

‪Great stop in arches!‬
العائلة • يونيو 2021
‪Another must stop in this park was firey furnace! Right out from the car, not much of a walk at all. You can just sit and take in the beauty of the stop and take a few photos. It wasn’t busy at all when we stopped.‬

‪It's back!‬
مايو 2021
‪The Fiery Furnace is open again after a year and a half! We snagged one of the first tickers. If you get lucky enough to score a ticket, do yourself a favor and get the guide on fieryfurnacetour.com because it will save your hike! Otherwise you'll most likely get lost and won't see the hidden arches.‬

‪Use the tour and camp at the Park (if you can)‬
يونيو 2020
‪Awesome place and don't hike here without the tour. Many get lost. If you want to camp in the Park, you will have a hard time getting reservations. Use "Campsite Notifier" on the App Store. It is free for the next couple of weeks only and you can find a campsite that has been canceled.‬

‪Only view from the overlook‬
زوجان • أبريل 2021
‪The overlook offers a glimpse of the area with various rock formations and color of the rocks. It is a quick stop for photos. The hike must be great if one is a hiker.‬

‪Memorable hike‬
يناير 2021
‪We didn't get to visit Fiery Furnace during this visit, due to Covid, but we have taken a guided trip from Moab Adventure Co here. The trip was amazing. Be sure you have adequate water and plan for a meal on the hike. It's a memorable lifetime experience to hike through this part of the park - it'll make you forget where you are.‬

‪Colorful rocks‬
زوجان • نوفمبر 2020
‪We stopped at the parking lot here and wondered around a little bit to see the colorful rocks which with some imagination looks like a fiery furnace. This is a very quick easy walk from the car and there are also bathrooms at this stop.‬
